I think we may struggle to match the GOLD haul from China but can still surpass the medal haul. At this time last year we'd also won 2 medals I believe, Cook and Adlington's golds. Those have been downgraded this time into a silver and bronze. Today is the quietest day ooverall of the whole fortnight as there are only 12 medals up for grabs. But I see Wednesday as being the UK's first big day..cycling time trials and rowing! By close of play on Wednesday we may be in a much better position.
We cannot win the same number in cycling anyway. Athletics seems to be a big hope next week with 14 predicted!
Hope so otherwise they'll probably get the same treatment as others who haven't won a medal (and even the 2 girls that have) are getting. There are some people out there in cyperspace who seem to have forgotten its only day 3 and we have many potentially top events to come which will hopefully be successful in. One bloke said its a disgrace to be beaten by China..well maybe in rugby, football or cricket!
Great floor performance by Whitlock there. Hopefully they can get this Bronze, will be fantastic if they do.
booooooo Knocked down to bronze in an inquiry. Beaten by someone who basically fell off at the end but landed on his feet.
I'm afraid it's been overturned. GB relegated to Bronze. Japan awarded Silver on appeal.....even though their guy fell off the horse....what a joke.
Just been reading more about the judo. Poor display considering the investment. 7 first round bouts were lost and only 2 overall bouts won.
Hmmph. Still no sign of this flurry of good news. Call me a pessimist, but I really can't see us doing anything better than 75% of what we did in Beijing.
This is becoming depressing. I'm seriously not seeing where 19 golds are coming from to match Beijing. Are there even 19 events in the velodrome?
We should have picked up at least one medal from the individual three day eventers, but they both blew their last round, one of them could have still won a medal with one fence down, but they both managed to knock over two
British men finished 1st and 3rd in the last qualifying for the final of the 200m Breaststroke. Could have two on the podium!
Hopefully 99 but we do get people into the final quite a lot with promising swims...just don't get the medals.
Regardless of whether they win a medal both broke the British record which is a fantastic achievement. We'll win a gold at some point
No it's not. If they don't win a medal it just proves that not only are they crap, but the whole of the British people are crap and have been for all time.
