Yes i went to that match with my dad and his mate Michael. i am sure rankin saved a penalty, and we battered them. He always seemed to when we went to away matches. Their Danis Salman. i remember saying we should sign him. He always played well against us.
Separated at birth...but here's an exclusive that helps to identify the cheery Prog Rocker from the surly Dane. Rick is seen modelling the limited edition Bees Play-Off kit below. Ditching their traditional red and white stripes in favour of an XXXL red top with a wrap around gold lame cape will surely see off their nonplussed Play-Off rivals. Wakeman? Frank? Who knows?
Would definitely like to see Wilmot given a go. Pedro needs a rest. I'd also be tempted to have Sarr start out on the bench. Only use him if necessary. Let Zinckernagel play in his natural right wing spot. I'd tend to prefer Success vs. Perica up front, just to see if we can get him some confidence, but I suspect that if Pedro sits, Gray starts.
Has anyone ever met a Brentford fan? I haven't, which is strange considering I was born in West London and have lived and worked in London for most of my life.
I mean, historically they are a lower league team, and the 4th biggest club in West London (5th if you include us just outside). There'd be loads of fans of the big London clubs out there I'd imagine, plus I guess QPR, Fulham and maybe even Watford in the areas where they consider their 'backyard'
QPR chant sums up what they think of their catchment area/ support- “ you’re just a bus stop near Hounslow - bus stop near Hounslow.......”
i actually went to school with one. Deadly serious chap he was, used to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder about students in higher sets than him. to be honest it’s probably quite tough being a Brentford fan....they don’t really mean anything in the grand scheme of things. Surrounded by bigger clubs, they are always going to struggle to get new young fans. They might have a bit of success over the next few years, particularly as their owner appears fairly keen to push the club forwards but they have a limit a bit like us of maxing out in the middle of the premiership and then getting relegated. yep it’s definitely tough to be a Brentford fan.
Brentford weren't very convincing at home to Rotherham by all accounts, they seem a lot blunter at home than they've been away recently. I'm confident we can win there if Pedro and/or Sema are back in form - we've struggled a bit for goals recently and Sarr has basically been carrying the attack. Hopefully now we've achieved promotion the players who've maybe let the pressure get to them a bit can relax and play with the freedom they did earlier in the season.
Ha, when you google "brentford bbc" the first question you get in the "People also ask" section is "Did Brentwood win last night?" What, Brentwood Town of the Isthmian League North Division that hasn't been running since February? That feature of Google is a joke and the sooner they scrap it the better.
Weird I have been absolutely loving watching Watford twice a week for most of this season (well at least the second half), now we are promoted this seems a bit off exhibition match nothing really to play for for either team. would expect Brentford to rest players , they are in the play offs and can’t risk any injuries , can’t see our players fighting like the Norwich match, I could imagine.22 players strolling around having a nice afternoon can’t see Norwich screwing up the title l bit if we win and they lose would add a bit of excitement to the Swansea game
In regards to the game I think we should play all our best players, but in the wrong positions , in homage to Squeeze when they played TOTPs.
Had one to call, this. Do we do like Norwich did after getting promotion and take our foot off the gas, or do we play with the air of a relaxed team out to have fun under no pressure? Do Brentford rest players ahead of the play-offs, or play their strongest side to try to win and build up some momentum before they start? Do we still believe we can win the title? Do they desperately want 3rd to potentially get an easier play-off tie? Ross I can see why you’d be tempted to do that and it all sounds very cool for cats etc, but I’d hate us to be up the junction and throw our title hopes overboard.
The fact that the other 3 teams are all on 77 points after 44 games suggests that all of them are pretty equal, although Swansea clearly have the worst form at the moment. Brentford are 4 points clear of 4th, I guess they will rotate a bit in their last two games though.
Yes, but I do live in West London. Saw one only this evening. A few of the youngsters at my previous church went along with their parents, used to be easy to get tickets. Was never cheap but compared to Chelsea etc. was an absolute steal.
I’m torn There’s part of me that wants us to go full strength and smash them into oblivion, which we would, because we are a Premier League team and they are a tinpot championship team. The other part of me wants to take the pi$$ and play the following; Parkes Navarro Kaba Wilmot Lazaar Phillips Sanchez Wise Pochettino Success Hungbo Just because we can and it doesn’t matter. We can literally give them the three points and it has no relevance, they are still a tinpot championship team and we’re Premier League! Then I go back to wanting to smash them and put their tiny little club in their place. However they are a dirty cheating little team who would love to injure Sarr for no reason. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if this became a heated game. Can see them flying into tackles, with massive jealousy and envy as we’re Premier League and their not. Let’s not kid ourselves, it will be the highlight of their players careers playing against us. The opportunity to tackle a premier league star is massive for them. No doubt they will be lining up at FT to swap shirts with our premier league stars and asking them to sign it. If we want to win then Brentford 0-5 Watford If we decide to let them have their moment, Brentford 2-1 Watford.
Wonder if that glue sniffer on their forum, Banana, still reckons they can win the league. Genuinely saw on there yesterday that according to one we haven’t “earned” automatic promotion. Certainly earned it more than you lot you second rate QPR.
I can't help but admire him. That's some next level perving. So creepy he's broken the entire quote function.
https://griffinpark.org/index.php?threads/gpg-supercomputer-after-cardiff-h.135101/ This was a sensational read.
I've not looked at the table for a while but I'm pretty certain we still need at least a point from this game.
Seemed pretty reasonable to me for the most part, I'm not entirely sure what we're supposed to be taking offence at/laughing like a drain about.
Rest all the players we need for next season. Can see Brentford resting a few as well. Would love either Brentford or Barnsley to go up. Prefer Brentford though as would love to go to their new stadium and it is much easier to get to.
Almost as though a supercomputer/mathematical model can't accurately predict things like football anymore than we can...
