Sunderland fans up in arms as the club rebrands areas of the Stadium of Light with Newcastle colours and slogans. If that was us doing that for L%*$n I’d be fuming too. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...brand-at-stadium-of-light-before-fa-cup-derby
Yes apparently this was done by a company brought in by Sunderland they have used before . Mind you this lot are based in Newcastle apparently and clearly no one checked before hand what they were putting up
There's a bit of a trend for clubs trying to make the away concourses more welcoming to visiting fans. Not really sure what the thinking is... I'm not going to enjoy myself more or spend more money because there's a poster congratulating me for travelling 52 miles today (even though I live miles from Watford) or because the slaves behind the kiosks are wearing Watford shirts. And presumably the coked up yoof are going to trash the place regardless of whether there's a 'Come on you 'Orns' vinyl on the wall in the bogs? It's just bizarre all round.
It’s a bit like they’ve hired some mad marketing type who has simply asked Newcastle fans what they would like and what some of their favourite songs are, without any concept of the grim rivalries involved. They’ll be asking the owners if there is a journalist they’d like dismembering next.
Not sure it was even the away end. Seems to be some sort of bar in the VIP/executive area that some Newcastle fans have paid hundreds to watch the game from.
