@miked2006 seems to have been his main cheerleader in the past (albeit not necessarily saying we should have spent £20mil on him):

"I'm going to buck the trend and say, in this market, Mawson would be worth 25mil if his contract wasn't expiring. He's a very good young homegrown defender, who has a decent scoring record from set pieces. Not with 18 months left on his contract however."

"Probably doesn’t speak enough about Mawson’s fantastic potential and his organisation/ leadership skills for someone so young."

"Young HG defender who has been praised for his performances this season and is a leader at the back. Also 18 months left on his contract, so could be available at a cut price fee.
Disgusting. Get his **** away from my club."

@Harrow Orn also seems to have been a fan:

    "Massive potential there.
Think he's a good player myself. Made a couple of mistakes against us at times but he's young ffs.
Bit surprised people are saying no to him."

Fair enough. No idea why there's a new thread on him. Are people really that desperate to prove people wrong that they have to talk about Alfie f**king Mawson?

If I got a pound for every player I thought would have good potential who then turned out to be s**t then I'd be a millionaire. I think most people would be.

Missed most of last season with a freak injury caused when putting on his boots.

Is a shame he’s about as lucky with injuries as Tommy Hoban, given his fall from having a place in the 2018 World Cup, to languishing in the Championship.

I haven’t checked but after forking out around 20 million for him to help them stay in the prem last season Fulham soon realised that when goals kept going in that had bought a pup and he was banished to their reserves!,

Every time I saw him play against us for Swansea he was very generous in helping us score, I hope I never see him take the pitch representing us!

Agreed but the very fact he isn't playing in the prem this season is going to cost us a couple of goals.

It is rather bizarre that one particular person seems to delight in trawling the forum archives for instances when someone said something that didn’t materialise. Not the first time it’s happened either. Of course, these people never get anything wrong though....

Yup. I've never understood people who spend a significant amount of time looking back for posts where someone has gotten it wrong, just so they can throw it back in their face.

It's even weirder that its about Alfie Mawson lol.

GoingDown does this everyday. It's normal forum behaviour for certain individuals. They have a need, or obsession, to do this. It's what makes them feel good about themselves.

I love to know if they have a little notebook, with dates, times and #post numbers. It's quite funny really if you think about it.

Yes but I think it’s one thing to just allude to things someone once said to get cheap laughs. It’s quite another to actually search for things, post links etc etc.

I just find the ‘look, I was correct about this/I gave this opinion before you’ or ‘let me prove you wrong’ attitude is a bizarre one and especially when it comes from someone who tries to explain their own inconsistencies with excuses. We are all guilty of it but crikey, some are worse than others!
