Hats off to McGrath, Langer and espcially Warne though. Great players and Warney is a legend, even though he's destroyed England I'm certainly sad to see him stop playing. Ah I remember his ball to Gatting in 1993, I was only 10 at the time......

Some serious issues need sorting with technique and attitude.

 

The players weren't overly bothered either!!

 

It was obvious it was going to be 5-0 after the 2nd test, (though some could say it was obvious from day 1 of the first test).

Selection was wrong and missing key players/or players not at full fitness was an important factor. But really it was the way we just collapsed each time. Harmison said he was 'looking forward to getting home' says it all really.

I don't think i'd blame Fletcher so much (except for having his favourites), but Freddie isn't Captain material, despite probably being the most influential player. At the end of the day, Australia's players wanted it a lot more than ours and we couldn't cope with them.

 

I swore at my TV very loudly and probably woke everyone in my street up when i saw Pieterson coming onto the field smiling before the Aussies began their chase of 40+!!! Furious i was! Makes me sick to see that from an England player...no *******s and no fight!

 

Even at the end and in the field nobody was bothered, smiles all round.

 

Didn't even bother watching it mate, went to bed after they gave Langer the 'guard of honour'!

Definately. Freddie isnt captain material, the players wernt commited and passionate enough and poor selections meant that we played utter crap!

 

Freddis as a captain was awful, the worst captain i have seen for a long time. His performed twice with the bat in the whole series and when harmison was back on form in the last few tests, he did not use him to open and i don;t even need to mention the monty choice at the start of the series

the worst problem in the whole series was number, 8. Mahmood hardly bowled so we would have been better off letting bell and collingwood bowl a few along with pieterson and play the extra batsman such as Ed Joyce. Read should have batted at 8 with Flintof relegated to 7.

We now need to get Chris Broad and Stephen Davies into the side for the start of next years tests

 

i agree mahmood or who was ever 5th choice bowler rarely ever bowled so an extra batsmen would make sense as pietersen n colllingwood could've bowled if needed. flintoff trys hard but he is not a captain and has too much pressure on him with the bat and ball.
