I want to look back at 2009 in over a years time and think "you know what, I had a good year and one to remember" so I have set myself an "impossible" task of competing in the British Heart Foundation 54 mile London to Brighton cycle ride. Possible for a lager lout, fat teen to do it? Well some mates have laughed, but i'd love to turn round this time next year and think, shyte I did it.

Anyone else going to set a challenge?

I will bump this up in June when it's completed i'm sure.

Just interested to see if others have thought of stuff to do?

I think it'll be quite easy if you take it seriously. 54 miles isn't that much and on a decent bike you should be able to do it. Best if you go in a group so you can share the wind resistance.

There maybe a group of us doing it from work, but I reckon a few will drop out when signing up comes.

To be honest they'll probably use me as the wind block!

Nooo, you don't want to saddle yourself with that role.

I got inspired by these guys a few months back and I just found my 'things to do before I die list' and doing the London to Brighton is on there...

Whilst it may not be in 2009 I will set myself an absolute limit of doing it by 2011.

  35. Cude>2<

    Cude>2< First Team Captain

Well, hey shyte I said i'd do something. Isn't quite the 54 Miles to Brighton, however I'm doing a 50 mile cycle in the North Downes. 4 miles less I know, however this will be far more challenging as it's hilly!

Doing this for Autism, more for the reason I have a relative who has it and know of all the hell he goes through on a daily basis and how it has ruined his life.

In the coming weeks i'll set up one of those accounts on justgiving.com if anyones interested in sponsoring? (and if this is allowed by Admin?)

Bumped this to show I was serious. Anyone else doing Charity events?
