Whilst I really want the ladies and reserve teams promoted as much as possible I'm against having hundreds of sections. Certainly the traffic in there doesn't justify a separate section however does the importance?

 

I'd be all for scrapping the ladies/reserves section. It doesn't garner enough interest if you ask me.

I'm with you here Meister, think we could do with streamlining the place a bit.

 

We ought to be able to vote a poster off each day, in a big brother style eviction process.

My vote goes to alip!

 

That'll do wonders for the sustainability of the forum in the long run...

 

Voting someone off each day is obviously not sustainable for the forum, but we could have a "Post of the Day" who would be awarded 'Orns!!!

We could also have "Dumbest Poster of the Day" who would have some sort of derogatory symbol super imposed, by Admin, over all of their posts for a week or even a month!!!

It could be named the "Ucking Canuting Winker Award."

I can think of one particular sponsor who has lots of orns.

 

It did occur to me that I was leaving myself wide open to be the first candidate, but I actually do like the overall idea :sign1:

 

cant you bung it in as a sticky in the watford section -just have one stuck thread for the development team and titties team...? and add the toyboy acadamy to it...

I dunno paddy, I would say you are a prime candidate with some of the nonsense you come out with, but to be fair you are quite capable of winning both categories on the same day

 

3 new sections in the Watford section

1 - Fans abroad - for oveseas fans groups and fans to make contact with other over seas fans

2 - Visiting supporters

3 - hornet songs - always a fav

Any chance of a countdown timer for the start of the new season. Top left of the front page maybe?

A warning system would be good, i.e. yellow/red card system.

Reason: Because recently I've been getting bored of having to read a page of people insulting each other.

More Poker, there should be fixed times each day/every other day where theres a game?

 

to be fair thats not the mods responsibility, the facility is there it just requires us plebs to be organised enough to use it.

 

Having been away for 3 days in the High Peaks walking and now only getting back to civilisation this eve and reading the crap that has been posted across the board by some members here, can there be a system of banning people until the season gets under-way or actually show who has a yellow card next to their name so others can see it?

 

I think an easier way, would be for any new users to have to state whether they are a Student or not.
Any bad grammar or wrong spelling should also be punishable.

 

i think anyone with pretensions to be 'itk' or who use the words 'loser' or '****' should be automatically banned, as they are usually accurate barometers of stupidity

 

or create a posting limit of 5 a day. it would force people to actually think about what they write

 

I don't know how easy it would be to implement, but I was thinking that it would be great to have a 'thumbs up' and 'thumbs down' under everyone's comments. If you like it, you give it a thumbs up, if you don't like it, thumbs down. Just like youtube. It would be easier than replying with an 'I agree - clap clap'.

 

Actually a very good suggestion, like that a lot, and seen it on other forums.

Also, can we please go back to that old site, in the least unappreciative way, I just don't enjoy this new layout. It's been a huge reason behind my lack of activity recently, that and the fact using it on a phone is unbearable.

 

We did have a post rating thingy in version 1 but tbh it wasn't massively used. but certainly we can look at stuff liek this once everyone is happy with the look and feel and all the original functionality is back.

how about an area for forum users to ask forum "experts" advice - students could ask any employer what they really look for on a CV, those about to comeence building work could ask anybody in the trade whether they are getting ripped off etc

 

Certainly a good idea and we do get a few of those type posts in the general section.
Not sure it would warrant a whole section though? Maybe a stickied thread?

 

I suggested something similar to this a looooooooong time ago, it might have even been on the old forum, but I still think it would be a good idea!!!

Maybe it could be a special section and perhaps could be called "Help a Hornet" or something similar :sign15:

 

What about an "Advice thread" just for people who want advice with buying appliances or fixing something etc etc
