He looked okay on the telly box. Maybe he seemed more of a driving force in the stadium but other than the commentator going on about him a bit I still didn't see much to make me excited. He should be doing far more with his time on the ball than he does. I agree in the first 15 mins of the half he made some fine runs though.
He looks busy and seems to be willing to get the ball and go forward but then any attacker ought to be I guess !
At least when the going was tough he stood up and tried to take responsibility. Can't accuse him of hiding away at all. At the moment, you have to give him props for that.
Put it simply, could we have won if his final ball was a bit better, definitely, would we have got anything if he hadn't come on, lol
Yet again he plays only roughly half the game, and yet again he is our best player. We weren't quite as shambolically bad without him today, but we were still much better with him. Let's hope it's not a major injury...
«Prior to the 1998 World Cup, FIFA made the tackle from behind a red card offence. The wording emphasised that it was a tackle "which endangers the safety of an opponent".» Maybe professional referees should start reading the rules of the game. How Eccles was not sent off for that tackle is unbelievable. The ref didn’t even give a free kick. That stuff was common in the 80s and early 90s but it’s 2024 ffs.
I’d have to see a replay again as really couldn’t tell live whether it was a foul or not. Would have been surprised if a red card had been shown.
Possibly sent for a supply of his cakes to bribe Madley with. Something for the EFL to look into, if they have any integrity left.
In the Georgian squad for the Euros play-offs, first up they have Luxembourg at home (no pushovers these days!), with the winner to face either Greece or Kazakhstan
Albeit "This may not be his explosive self that we saw back in the day" He was looking pretty explosive in his games before Birmingham, but as with most of the team he looked rather leggy in that game, albeit him even more so than everyone else. I hope he's still not carrying that knock he received and he can regain the speed he'd been showing prior to having to go off vs Coventry.
He also might be a bit shattered given the length of the season and how little footy he'd played before joining us due to injury ?
I really don't think that's the case - in the few games up to and during the Coventry game he was looking the quickest and sharpest he'd been in a Watford shirt. It was literally just that tackle vs Coventry which immediately hobbled him and forced him off.
Doesn't look too here, probably got injured jumping on that table mind you https://twitter.com/WatfordFC/status/1772725605907288167
Another bright performance where he made us look so much better, would like to see him start from now on
Yes he was good, but had he not sold himself a dummy near the end which confused us and his team mates instead of shooting for the inside left post he could of ended his lack of goals tally today. Not entirely sure what that was about, just hit it!
Sorry but I just don't see it. Positive intent is nearly pointless if it doesn't have an end result. Plus today he played so many weak hospital passes for such a short cameo, it was pretty frustrating.
Well we created nothing with Kayembe, who always needed to take an extra touch and put in some of the worst corners I've ever seen, Chak was a big improvement on him today
No argument there. But ultimately one was defensive and had no impact on the game and the other was more attacking and had no impact on the game. Sums up where this squad is really. All interchangeable and no one other than Hoedt as captain I'd say is a nailed on starter
Agreed. Lewis is garbage going forward but Chakvetadze kept holding it for the overlap and then instead of giving Lewis a chance to cross, he'd underhit it and give him the chance to bottle a 50-50 instead. At the start of the season, Chakvetadze would drop a shoulder in that position, cut in and try and get a powder puff shot off but seems to have completely dropped that from his game.
Judging from the chance he left to go through his legs vs Preston he seems to have given up on shooting altogether.
And even if he had been, the ball was coming on to Lewis on his wrong foot, while it was the correct foot for Chak (who was also in a better position to shoot anyway being centre of goal). Just utterly nonsensical from him.
Was out yesterday with a problem with the 'area of the adult', but hasn't been ruled out for the final two games
