Christ he was bad today, never seen anyone so scared to be out on a football pitch. Just play Morris, he'll be here next season so give him the minutes. Lewis will hopefully be at another Championship club next season.
Whether its an unpopular opinion or not its Morris over Lewis for me. Not saying that Morris is the saviour but i think he offers more defensively and offensively, especially with Sema in front of him. There were times when he was on his right foot with an opportunity to cross but would bring it back onto his left for a back pass. The defender knows this and can easily read the situation with no threat of cutting inside.
Everyone’s entitled to their opinion but I think you’re absolutely crazy. Lewis hasn’t been great that’s fair but Morris would genuinely struggle to stand out in League Two.
My sources tell me we're working on a monster 'Pardew-Extension' that would take his contract from its currently risky end date of 2026 up until 2034, securing one of the club's most prized assets for many seasons to come in a bid to ward off reported interest from several clubs in the Kazakh birinşi ligası.
I just hope Gino’s remembered to pay the volcano insurance premium his agent asked for too. Can’t risk losing Morris to a freak volcanic eruption in SW Herts.
I was excited when we signed him. Who knew he could be this bad? He clearly detests being at our great club too. Just yet another dreadful signing. Stick Sema at left back, at least that will stop him being played further forward and he can do no worse than this dud.
I can only conclude he must be the result of a season's wager between the Stability - 'You don't think it's possible for me to find a less interested, more ineffective, lazier Prem loanee than Keinan Davis? Watch this!' They've truly earned the win. Who'd have thought? (Especially disappointing as I will freely admit I was once optimistic about his availability and thought he would become important for us)
Good technical player and makes some good runs going forward but his tackling is powder puff at best, dont know if this is a psychological thing due to him having that big injury while at Newcastle or not.
He was excellent tonight. Had Dan James in his pocket all night. Shame we never saw this sort of performance in other games.
Bottles every tackle. Shows his man the wrong way. Crosses all hit the first man. Shots all hit the upper atmosphere. Prefer Morris.
The 'positive' of bad loanees is that it shouldn't take rocket science to get an upgrade on them, but it wouldn't surprise me if we manage to sink lower next season...
When the Leeds game wrapped up, Jamal Lewis turned back into Jamal Lewis. When you cross a ball, get it over the first man.
Morris may or may not be good enough, but he is our player. Lewis is not good enough, let's see Morris play and develop.
just play Morris give him some more experience in the last few dead rubber games ,lewis is garbage and not our player
Some players are better appreciated when they don't play . Lewis will be one of them . He doesn't hide and is our attacking outlet on the left hand side . If Trent signed for us he would get pelters because he doesn't kick the opposition up in the air .
But kicking another player out to touch is not what makes a good player. Lewis is not a grafter (from what I've seen of him), and the fact he shirks out of so many challenges, plays woeful balls that most of the time go to the opposition and just generally never gives over 50% each time he plays is the reason why he is disliked. I am sure there is a good player in there, we've seen it once, vs Leeds, and then he reverted to type. Yes today he had a half chance to give us the lead first half and it was a tricky shot, but that is one instance of him actually doing something useful. It's no good running with the ball down the flank when you get to the byline and you cannot even put a simple cross into the box. A lot of our good moves break down because of this, and he's had more than enough games to improve. I am sure he's a decent guy, but for whatever reason he just doesn't put the effort in. Morris has more room to develop, and he also has his weaknesses, but he does at least try. When Morris is on the pitch you notice him (good or bad), but with Lewis, most games I forget he's even on the pitch. He has ability, I am not doubting that, but his personal involvement on a game to game basis is well below what it should be especially considering he was touted as a great loan signing when he joined.
Yes, the thought went through my mind yesterday when watching him, “ I can’t see him playing for Newcastle again “ he is so infuriating, yesterday he had countless chances to get the cross in early, but for some reason always prefers to check back or take an extra touch like when he blasted it over the bar with 5 mins left. He can do it, but doesn’t seem to have confidence in his ability!
He hides every game. Hoedt > Lewis. Lewis looks up, decides against a forward pass, rolls it back to Hoedt then jogs into midfield to ensure he can't get the ball back from Hoedt. He is a cowardly, heartless player and won't be missed.
He seems short on really caring. Just seems like he isn't fussed about football or Watford and is going through the motions.
