Surely that was supposed to be a pass? Nobody could control a ball that badly. It had to be an dreadful thoughtless attempted backpass into a dangerous area full of their players rather than an abysmal, worse than amateur, attempt to control the ball.

It’s a shame you are not flying back to Luton (they only have Micky mouse flights) as getting your car out of the car park could well have held you up!

He's one of those players who seems like he's bulked up a bit too much. He'd probably benefit from losing a bit of mass and gaining some agility.

In my earlier post I forgot to give a big shout out to Livermore. One of the best individual performances this season. He has got better every game he has played this season. The amount of abuse he got from the Pozzo out brigade before he had even kicked a ball for us was disgusting, i'm glad he's proving them wrong. Hopefully a few more of the new (and old) players will take the same path.

Ken is an absolute gentleman. Saw him after the Plymouth game where he stopped for a photo and signed my nephew’s programme. Then he just toddled off home down Vic road on foot. No jumping in a flashly lambo or other delusions of grandeur. Humility at its finest.

So mid-table, right? (sorry, couldn't resist it!). You are correct, we are not going to win 4 or 5 on the spin, but i'm seeing small improvements which will hopefully lead us to a more comfortable place in the table.

I know we have been gash for long periods of time this season, but i'm enjoying it. That old, pre-Pozzo feeling of us being very average, but hopes that we can somehow be more than the sum of our parts,

I know we have been **** in a few games, but overall I think we have been unlucky not to have won some of the games we have lost or drawn.

With a bit more rub of the green I think we could easily be in a playoff position right now and I still believe we could well be there by the end of the season.

Confirmed by VI, via Andrew French

"Explained that TDB knew the rules, and he as coach will continue to enforce. TDB was due to be a sub tonight, as was Hamer at Leeds. Louza was due to start when he was dropped to the bench. Starters drop to bench, subs drop off bench #watfordfc"

I was won over by Ken a long time ago. He's one of very few of the recent bunch who feels like a Watford player to me. I can imagine him coming back in 12 years and standing on the pitch at half time. Can't say that about many who've passed through our squad.

He's limited but he's relatively consistent at this level, making him a safe bet over more mercurial players.

He would have made a better captain than Bachman and is probably my favourite player although that's a very low bar.

Even before we scored last night I was thinking we were playing better than recently, with more intent trying to play it forward and not quite so much passing it around at the back! Bachman played it long a few times, something I don't think happened last Saturday!

It was a wonder goal last night out of nowhere, the beauty was that we scored it and not the opposition! I don't think we have completely turned the corner just a little way around it, as been mentioned many times the problem is joining up midfield with attack (that if we had an attack). However we now play Millwall, Hudderfield and Rotherham three teams below us in the table which if there was ever a chance of getting some more points on the board to aid confidence this must be it!

PS a Kayembe playing well is better than a Louza playing poorly!

Very satisfying to get the monkey off our backs with an away win, and against a side who’d recently won four in a row before meeting the runaway leaders last weekend.

After more than 40 years following football, I’d have hoped to have been able to stand back and give a more definite opinion of where we are right now, but I admit I can’t. I’ve no clue at all whether we’ve turned a corner and won’t spend the rest of the season flirting with the bottom end of the table, or if we’ve just had a good little mini run against teams not in the top six. Only time will tell. But it’s a satisfying few games, and we were probably just a poor Ince miss from three wins in a row in hindsight.

I thought last night was one of those matches where the result was everything. We did play some good football and deserved it, but I think had we lost then the knives would have been out too. Too slow, too ponderous, lack of a final ball etc. But as I say, the result papered over any deficiencies and quite rightly we are celebrating!

Certain players are definitely looking all the better for getting a run of matches. Livermore, Kone, Ngakia etc. And delighted for Ken. As others have already said, he’s a terrific pro. If there was a criticism, it would be that he doesn't score enough. Let’s hope last night was the sign of things to come.

I thought last night was a good example of the ‘sum of our parts’ saying, and that’s probably the only way we will continue to grow as a team and eek out more positive results, so bring it on!

Thought we played quite well and last two games we seem to be getting some of the luck we were missing at the start of the season. Think Sieralta needs to keep his place and that midfield felt a lot more balanced than other iterations.

A couple of things annoyed me though, how did we end up with a 2v2 situation in the last 5 mins when we're 1 nil up away from home? Had they scored it would have been inexcusable! How are we also so bad at defending crosses and corners? Not like we have a small team

Yes, SW also had at least 2 easily convertible free headers to have taken the lead. The marking for both was apalling.

My suspicion is that, apart from anything else/the myriad and much-discussed wider factors, the total lack of a prolific goalscoring or, indeed, even really goal-attacking striker would always condemn us to little more than relatively unbothered survival (as long as we don't have any kind of injury crisis and the wingers chip in with enough wonder goals, of course...).

Both brightening a tedious match when a sub scored from an excellent pass from another sub. I think I'm seeing a pattern here .....

We have been extremely lucky with officials.

A great call on the Lewis penalty, but I don't see a foul at all last night.

    Hmmmm... it's a bit of a nothing.

That said I don't think it should have been a corner in the first place, looked like it came off the Swansea man and missed Lewis' thigh.

Was on a full on bear hug for at least a couple of seconds meaning he couldn't follow his man. Can see it in the angle they show in the short match highlights. May not have made any difference to the actual header as the scorer was a different guy but was obviously a planned block/hold to get a man free. Cracking decision.
