Exactly this. The NDA stuff was made up by one person on Twitter and then somehow became an accepted truth.

Not sure Bassini was `a stupid investor` as he managed to obtain a £10 million credit line to buy the club so not risking his own cash. It is certainly valid to question his management abilities, but he acquired a pub, a Bentley, a safe, and substantial income - so I would say `fairly prudent` really.

Pozzo over in Italy right now, trying to destroy his other club

#Udinese - Gino #Pozzo attends the afternoon training of #Sotti
    upload_2023-10-10_18-19-23.jpeg

Gino Pozzo has arrived in Friuli. The reason? Understand the situation in the Udinese house. Today the Bianconeri resumed training at Bruseschi ahead of the first championship match after the end of the stop against Lecce at Bluenergy Stadium. Pozzo attended the session together with the Head of the Technical Area Federico Balzaretti. A signal of closeness with the goal of loading the players and Andrea Sottil to reverse the trend and find the first win of the season. Below, today's training report:

Understand the situation in the Udinese house? Gino Pozzo wouldn't be able to work out the situation in his own fridge.

Oof. I bet Gino’s convening an emergency board meeting as we speak. Not sure how he comes back from that level of criticism from someone who unsuccessfully applied to work for him last year.

Say what you want about him and what he has said or done in the past regarding the owners or wanting to work at Watford, but I don’t think many can deny it’s a decent article, a good read and he does care.

It’s a good article but only saying what some people have been saying about our disgraceful owner for years. And let’s face it he was writing similar articles and tweets defending the owner fairly aggressively only 3 months ago. Anyway glad he has caught up.

Is it a good article? I mean, sure, the gist of it is decent but the writing is awful. It's just a giant block of text with long, rambling sentences.

Then getting onto the content, there's nothing new or controversial in there - if anything it's a couple of years (at least) behind the curve. Hardly groundbreaking.

Honestly, most posts on this forum are better than that article. But maybe it'll somehow sway some of the happy clappers on Twitter (sorry, X) to the dark side.

But that doesn't tally at all with the pretty certain knowledge that Manga had little to no input in most transfers.

I'm assuming the comment was that he "wasn't involved in any of the transfers this summer" which meant he was actively recommending players and was constantly being turned down with new recruits coming through other channels.

I haven't read the Bilic Bolocs but the post I quoted suggests that Manga was overruling suggestions for solid, Champ ready signings by going out and signing punts, which we know didn't happen.

Whatever Manga may have done to confuse the occasional meeting by suggesting player X or Player Y, he had little to no input in us eventually signing player Z

Gino Pozzo's ownership of Watford Football Club has been a subject of both admiration and criticism among supporters. Many Watford FC fans have expressed various reasons why they believe he should consider selling the club. It is important to note that these arguments represent the views of certain fans and not an exhaustive analysis. This essay will delve into some of the existing arguments from Watford FC supporters on why Gino Pozzo should sell the club.

Firstly, one of the prominent arguments put forth by Watford supporters is the issue of long-term stability. Gino Pozzo's ownership has seen a high turnover of managers, with a new head coach almost every season. This constant managerial shuffle has made it difficult for the team to build continuity and establish a consistent playing style. Fans argue that this instability has hindered the club's ability to make progress in the Premier League and compete for European places.

Additionally, some supporters point to the lack of investment in the club's infrastructure and stadium. While the team has seen sporadic success in the Premier League, Watford's Vicarage Road Stadium remains relatively outdated compared to those of many other top-flight clubs. The lack of modernization, including expanding seating capacity or improving training facilities, is seen as a hindrance to the club's long-term competitiveness.

Another concern voiced by fans is the club's transfer policy. Under Pozzo's ownership, Watford has become known for its extensive use of the loan system, often bringing in players with no long-term commitment to the club. This approach has led to concerns about player loyalty and a lack of emotional investment in the team, which some fans argue could be detrimental to the club's performance on the pitch.

Furthermore, Watford supporters have raised questions about the direction of the club's footballing philosophy. Pozzo's emphasis on recruitment and the loan system has sometimes overshadowed the development of youth talent. Many fans would like to see a stronger focus on nurturing and promoting young players from the club's academy, which they believe can lead to a more organic and sustainable success.

Finally, there have been debates about the club's engagement with the local community. Some supporters argue that the club, under Pozzo's ownership, has not done enough to strengthen its ties with the people of Watford and the surrounding areas. They believe that a change in ownership might bring a fresh approach to community involvement and initiatives, enhancing the club's relationship with its supporters.

In conclusion, there are existing arguments from Watford FC supporters that suggest Gino Pozzo should consider selling the club. Concerns about long-term stability, investment in infrastructure, transfer policy, footballing philosophy, and community engagement have all been raised. It's important to note that these arguments represent the views of a segment of fans and not a definitive judgment on Pozzo's ownership. Ultimately, the decision to sell the club or not rests with the owner and the club's board.

In fairness it's quite honest in what he did believe and what he thinks now.
Only in the last year have I felt we needed a change in ownership but I was not desperate for it to happen ASAP. That has changed now and Pozzo and the rest of them need to go. I just worry how long it will take for him to go and who will buy the club off him.

He says that present day (Saudi government billionaire owned) Newcastle are a club which "wanted to bring back that feeling of a working class team that represents the city" and demonstrates a "respect [of] your club values"....

I think he seems as confused as he criticises the owners of being.

Who is the 1881 guy? Being the largest group at games, when they start voicing discontent, which they must be close to surely, things will get interesting. Its becoming clear now the tide is turning on Gino.

Dunno. They were singing “Here’s to you Pozzo family” as Norwich were wiping us off the face of the planet at home in the premier league. You may have a wait on the penny to drop with them.

@Goldenorn is far more ITK than myself. No debate.

Anyone on here with any connection is only posting what they are told. I've got a fair amount more right than wrong though - I just post most of it to trusted people via DM, as they will attest if they wish. If I'm told to keep it quiet, I do so etc etc. The fastest way to not hear things is to go blabbing when you do.

If you go back to my post on Oct 4th (Number 636) on the Manga thread, you'll see I was telling everyone that Manga was a dead duck and would be gone soon, well in advance - but I say what I feel I can without shi*ting on doorsteps.
