First World problems. Like a Private Eye spoof this. https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/21761227/councils-spending-nothing-kings-coronation-charles/
Sir Gal of Lineker had very little to say about Corbyn and his mob regarding anti semitism. Just sayin like . And Saint Gary was happy to take the Qatari buck and to compromise his principles. Just sayin like Any buffoon who wants to die on a hypocritical white liberals hill is also a buffoon. Just sayin like Any woke ****** who has me on ignore. I'm talking to you . Just sayin like .
I bet when you were younger you bopped along to the Clash, Sham 69 and the others doing Rock against Racism. Sounds like you’d be booing along with ruling class Laurence Fox now and playing point the finger at the liberal.
Ian Hislop and Jon Stewart were very good talking about their country's respective media in the 45 minute Podcast:
We really do have an absolutely foul and untrustworthy press. And everyone knows it. https://pressgazette.co.uk/media-audience-and-business-data/trust-news-media-uk-egypt/
I notice that Australia, US and UK are in the bottom third of that chart - I wonder who has his principal business interests in those three countries?
Worth noting that it's public trust, not how objectively trustworthy the source is. It's highly possible for public trust in an outlet to be high, but for the outlet to still be propaganda. Similarly, low public trust doesn't necessarily indicate that the media in the country is worse. Countries utilizing heavy propaganda to great success would actually be expected to have higher public trust figures, because if they didn't the propaganda wouldn't be effective.
You would certainly expect people the world over to form their opinion of whether a news source is reliable or not through experience. Whether what they write turns out to be true or not. I'm very sure that our press is filled with propaganda. Unashamedly really. I don't agree that British people are somehow more streetwise and savvy when it comes to recognising and dismissing it. I also don't think Iranian, Chinese, Nigerian etc people are so easily conned or don't have access to Internet alternative sources these days.
It's also important to understand how the data has been gathered. In countries where opposing the 'government line' is risky, respondents may have found it expedient to say they found the (government-controlled) media 'trustworthy'.
And yet the numbers clearly state otherwise, unless you are claiming that the UK media is worse than the heavily state controlled Chinese media. Is that what you're claiming?
I don't know anything about the Chinese print media. Do they have multiple mass circulation daily 'papers with a range of political viewpoints?
To a point, but the corollary of this argument is that the UK and Egypt are the Countries where speech is most free. I don’t think that explains it. We have venal newspapers and as a consequence they are not trusted, even, it seems, by people who read them.
Excellent. An actual recording of Hooter in discussion with a leftie politics thread member… Weelllll. It may as well be. BBC nob interviewer with security (blanket) IT device: “Please shut up. I’m trying to present a narrative here”.
A few eagle eyed folk spotting this in today’s telegraph. We’re all in it together you know. In case anyone is unfamiliar, SamCam grew up on a 300 acre estate, has her own fashion brand and married a wealthy Prime Minister.
Does Murdoch really hold that much power in the UK: Charles undermined late queen’s plan to sue News UK, Prince Harry tells court Harry claims his father intervened because he wanted to ensure the Sun supported his and Camilla’s future reign
And while we're at it - those viewing figures are dismal (80k viewers is the same as AEW wrestling got on ITV4 on 31/03):
Love the fact that the graphic appears to be celebrating GB News’ audience figures! More people listen to Ben Foster’s podcast!
The Guardian rightly criticised for distasteful and dodgy cartoon on the Richard Sharp affair, which appears to draw on antisemitic tropes. Has been taken down and grovelling apologies issued. https://news.sky.com/story/the-guar...rd-sharp-after-antisemitism-backlash-12869197
Did you think the barrel hadn’t been fully scraped yet? Think again. Pierce gets a savaging in the comments, not least of all for painting a target on Ms Gray’s back. https://twitter.com/toryboypierce/status/1654551307007524864?s=46&t=oqOMSJXE_g7J5C7kNPG9LA
