The thing is, a club like Brentford were probably saying the exact same thing about us in our second season in the PL under the Pozzos, with our - at the time - relatively novel approach.

Give it a few more seasons and they'll probably be back in the Championship as well themselves.

75% possession and we still lost . Pass pass pass but with no purpose other than to find another pass .
No focal point up top either . But we could have Haaland but if we don't pass to him when HE wants the ball he would struggle to score for us . Wilder should ban SSG at training for a short while and go route 1 combination play with a finish or cross and finish . And if you want to be on the subs bench then take as many touches as you like .

On the plus side despite the heroic efforts of Dr Watford it looks like QPR won't be an away day next season !!.

The sooner this season is over the better. Another insipid performance today . While I’ve never booed our players I couldn’t disagree with the not fit to wear the shirt chants. This seems like an absolute low point but it may well not be .

If we’d shown the sane fight we showed in the last ten minutes for any other part of the match we may have had a chance.

Was great to see Asprilla get his first go if fox pop and Britts finish was decent but no other po Vm sitives from today Was decent but no other plus points today and I struggle to see how we pick up any more points .

i would actually like us to throw in a few youngsters between now and the end of the season Couldn’t be much worse..

Where's Louza going to go? He's hardly put in (m)any performances yet to even justify the initial fee we paid for him, let alone for anyone else to come in and offer us at least it back.

Hmm. Well I have a four hour round trip to contend with when I go to Vicarage Road. So, trust me, after watching 85 minutes of that nonsense, leaving early and cutting my journey by 20 minutes was definitely the sensible, not the cowardly, option. I think it’s the third time I’ve ever left a match early. Didn’t even care when I learnt that I missed our second goal.

Not that I think our 'models' are comparable, they have a rich local man putting his own money in, but they seem to have a far better recruitment model than we ever had, they will eventually fall back into the Championship, but I'd be surprised if they quickly become a crisis club like we're on the way to

Lol we’re still banking on Dele Bashiru who hasn’t been fit more than 3 games in a row at any point in the last 5 years and is bang average even when he is fit. Delusional.

Tbf, there’s been a lot of players ‘banked on’ this season and they’ve all turned out to make no difference whatsoever. I’d go as far as saying we looked a better side when they were all injured and we had to play Gaspar and ‘Needed to play five games only’ Bacuna in midfield.

I’ll confess to thinking Louza would make a big difference, he’s genuinely made zero positive impact. Alarming.

Fair enough but if we need to flog him will do I suspect.

I mean, Swansea away was one of the many nadirs of the season, but the very next game we went up to Norwich with a similarly patched up squad and won, how has it got to this stage?

Sure, whereas if they'd all been model fans just like you - spewing ridiculous bull5hit on a message board while seemingly not even doing what you claim you will - then the difference this would have made to Pozzo would have been?? What, exactly?!?!

And do explain how exactly am I "a disgrace"?

Hyperbole mate but he just isn’t even worth discussing at this point “depending on how he recovers” he’d have to recover and return as prime Abdi to make any difference.

I don't agree with @Bore's post, but as far as Gino Pozzo is concerned, you've both had the same amount of impact in removing him from the club. Unless Bore doesn't have a season ticket, in which case you're even more of a 'facilitator'!

I’m not really into this whole fans having a go at other fans, but I very much doubt being led out of a stadium where the team is losing and most people wanted to leave is enough to stop people genuinely protesting if they wanted to. Unless I’ve heard the story wrong, he wasn’t given a kick in and locked up in cells awaiting a trial.

Anyone saying ‘our fans are too weak blah blah blah’ yet doing nothing more than criticising other fans on a forum are surely talking about themselves no?

Not all aimed at you @GoingDown just the post I used to make the point.

When Wilder was appointed I said we would probably get a few surprise results, unfortunately todays wasn’t what I meant!
we got too many odd signing now! We don’t want any more!

Again, did anyone actually say that? He's a young player, who has looked okay at Championship level, in a small amount of appearances. Yes, I would rather give him opportunities and see if he is able to recover from his injury issues and progress as a player, instead of more Cleverley/Gosling/Bacuna/Sanchez types.

Is that okay? Or is it completely deluded?

I do have and have had a season ticket for 40 odd years - I remember far more miserable times but agree far better times to.

Reality is Watford have been punching above their weight - not really a Premiership club and fans expectations have got too high.

the Pozzos have spent shed loads - they have done a lot badly but not for want of trying. FFS - how would you like paying players that could not care on 70k a week out of your own pocket. They have transformed the stadium - there are very few stadiums as good as Watfords.

Pozzo has mostly spent borrowed money. Money borrowed in the name of the club, not him personally. And I don't know what your benchmark is for the stadium really. It's a fair Championship-level stadium but no more in my opinion. Better than it was when he bought the club but another asset loaned against so much we don't own that either.

“Build the team around the likes of TDB”

    “Did anyone actually say that”

I agree we shouldn’t be extending the contract of the likes of Cleverley & Gosling but they’re not the reason TDB didn’t get opportunities are they? Nor are Bacuna or Sanchez. The guy can’t stay fit, he’s also 23 not 18’but you want us to build a team (partially) around him, that’s all my point was.

If you’re not on a wind up then I can only assume that you’ve completely lost it.

Pozzos have done great things and for a while had the Midas touch, unfortunately everything they touch now and have touched for the past 2-3 years turns to sh*t.

Our ground is fine for a club of our size but to say it’s one of the best is a joke, £11 for a couple of bits of chicken and chips and you still can’t get a f**king WiFi/1G/2G/3G/4G/5G signal in the ground.

They’ve dug themselves so deeply into a hole they simply cannot recover.

Yep, put me in that club too. He's been awful since his return from injury. There was one corner today where he trotted over in front of the Rookery, didn't even look at where people were in the box or give any thought as to what he was doing, just clipped it in with no pace and it was predictably headed away by some big lump at the near post. The definition of going through the motions.

Christ, does everything need simplifying for you mate? If I would have made a post saying "We Must Build Our Team Around Tom Dele-Bashiru", then fair enough. As anyone reasonable can see, I actually just listed some young players in our squad who may have potential to be decent Championship players. Some may fulfil that, some may not. I think TDB is more likely to not, due to his injury issues.

For the avoidance of any further confusion (sorry, but I doubt many others misunderstood), IF TDB was able to stay fit, I would prefer to have him in and around the squad of 18, rather than more of the same mould of player we've seen bloat our squads who may be more complete as a player currently, but whose trajectory is clearly downward.

While at the head-testing clinic could maybe pop into the eye-testing clinic and read it and interpret it for yourself.
