Going for a more defensive approach with 2 defensive midfielders ? Probably won’t make much difference but we’ll see .
I would of started Louza personally. Our midfield is non-existent and at least he can hold up the ball and make something happen. Burnley are going to easily cut through as Cleverley isn't a starter anymore and I see no reason other than the armband that he starts.
I expect Louza is ok as a sub and will be on in the second half and if things are still ok with him start at home to WBA next Monday
Yeah, personally I would have started Louza and taken him off if his minutes still need to be managed, rather than chucking a 44-year-old who's played about 20 minutes of football in a year to the lions to get run over and around, before then sending on our golden goose imperative to any possible chance we have left this season to hare around desperately chasing a lost cause some time in the second half.
Saw this on the Burnley site : “Watford have some serious quality in their team but incidentally their weakness is full backs, while our strength is out wide in and around full backs”. Might watch the other games then ! 10 technically very good players .. and Ashley Barnes .
Stubbed his toe in the technical area. Medical team raced on with a streacher.... out for 12 weeks according to witness.
Just refreshing to have two centre halves that aren't afraid to make a positive pass. The ball from Porteous for the goal was probably the most inventive pass from a central defender I've seen since Cassetti
