Given the games he's played in I imagine quite a lot of fans have never seen him play but will write him off. I'm not saying he's good enough but do feel needs he needs more of a chance but suspect he won't get that
He won't get the chance from any manager either. Tells you all you need to know about this signing. Ditto Kalu.
I imagine quite a lot of fans like you have never seen Dave Bamber play but will write him off. I'm not saying he's good enough but do feel needs he needs more of a chance but suspect he won't get that.
I agree he probably isn’t good enough but equally not had much of a chance. I’m hoping with the new chap that we will see less of these signings
Was trying to link not giving Manaj a chance with you bad people having a go at big hairy Dave. Don't worry I'll go back to more simplistic Bayo rage
Gotcha. I did watch big Dave and didn’t think he was good enough. Manaj….well a very small sample size admittedly but nothing to suggest he will be a regular scorer at this level. Certainly didn’t look a great finisher or fox in the box.
Big Dave had small sample size as well, as did most players under Harrison. Phenom was Big Dave. A prototype Ibrahimovic.
My allotment needs digging over and I am prepared to take him on loan next week to the end of the growing season. Of course he won’t be allowed to plant anything, as that takes precision. And I have doubt he will be up to netting much. But think the pace of vegetable growing will suit him.
Not what you said when he initially signed. Think you actually said he could be a decent rotation player just not the main starter. Did your opinion change that much after 200 minutes of him in a Watford shirt? The outrage over this transfer so far seems a little unfair to the player, who's been injured practically all his time here, and a overreaction considering he came for free. Bayo is a different story after coming for 5 million and being loaned back to original club the next window, that's terrible business. But free transfer punts happen all the time at every club and not all of them pan out, we will see here.
Probably the inevitability of it all is what people are moaning about. Free transfer punts happen all the time sure, he wasn’t free by the way, undisclosed fee. However, what happens less often is two marquee attacking signings both deemed suitable for a squad chasing promotion, then deemed unfit for squad registration 4 and a bit months later. That is shambolic.
I did also say "Just to clarify - if we're signing him as a backup striker, I'd have no qualms about it. But I have a feeling if he's coming then he's coming as our main striker, and I feel we could do much better." and by that I meant third or 4th choice, not playing in 6 out of the 7 games he's been available for selection. He's scored less goals (in worse leagues) in his career than Bayo, whilst also playing 3000 minutes more (and is only a year younger).
He was not a free transfer.. £3 million is not a freebie. Wait for the EoS financial statements to come out. Then tell me l was wrong.
You won’t be able to tell because all capital acquisitions are bundled together not disclosed separately unless intergroup.
Indeed. I heard it was actually £30m (or £28m if the correct ex rate is used) but it will be hidden in with the other smaller deals.
On what basis do you believe it was 3 million? Is there any source or piece of evidence you have... Or is that literally your guess.
LMFAO. Looking forward to the inevitable defence of this absolute shambles of a transfer from the COGs.
Will get pelters for this no doubt, but actually very happy to see this. To me it shows Manga is in charge now and the approach is changing. Doubt Gino would have terminated his contract for the ego hit alone.
I think he's a player that could have helped us this season, and could also be a good player for us in the Premier League.

Agreed, ruthlessness. We could all see he had no business being anywhere near the first team and nor did Bayo. Good riddance, let’s move on.
Hardly saw the bloke - injured so much . On that alone what a waste of time and money . Let alone the fact he wasn’t very good.
I'll always remember his celebration, desperately trying to tell everyone it was him who scored. Nobody cared, Rey.
Looked overweight when he joined, never looked fit, got injured twice, kept falling over and whinging at the ref, scored by Sema battering a ball into his ankles and getting a lucky deflection. One of Gino Pozzo’s worst.
Says here that he was a freebie (albeit with wages) and that Barca let him go on the basis of a cut of any future transfer fees (and we wonder why they are broke). Everyone having a laff here. https://www.football-espana.net/202...or-the-transfer-of-albanian-striker-rey-manaj
Great minds and all that! Think I shaded it by about a minute but either way, it's an evergreen phrase when it comes to this club!
