Yeah I put the 11 changes bit, tried to come up with a team and realised we literally don’t have enough midfielders for that!! Forgot to go back and change it, I guess
Yeah. It would probably be counterproductive, but can't have Franchise FC getting above their station.
Best guess of the team: Okoye Troost-Ekong Pollock Cathcart Ngakia Gosling Kayembe Morris Forde Hungbo Manaj
I would definitely be playing Bayo and Manaj. Get them scoring (hopefully) to build some confidence. They have cost us 4 points because of their woeful finishing.
Yes I agree. Both should start. A goal for either could be useful longer term. I’d imagine Okoye makes his debut tonight. Pollock too. I’d like to see Hungbo start. I hope we go fairly strong. It would be nice to keep our unbeaten run going, and to get a few players into some sort of form. It’s a quirk of fate that it’s a second successive Tuesday night where we come up against a manager we were heavily linked with back in Spring.
Definitely start Boyo,A Trois and Haribo. A Welshman,a threesome and a packet of sweets. What could possibly go wrong?!
Manaj has already scored, but agree with your point. Isn't this the kind of game we lose tamely every season though?
Will this game be too early for Hause to play a part I wonder? From what I'd heard, he'd just got back to full training by the time of his transfer here, could he at least play a cameo role in the last 20 mins or so? I expect Davis will do similar
Well he’s not had a pre-season due to injury. I’d imagine we would err on the side of caution based on.. 1. Our defence, for all our criticisms of it, has so far only conceded twice in five matches 2. It’s a very long season ahead I guess the club will think it’s much better to get him fully fit and match ready rather than throw him in too early into a defence already performing fairly well and risk him getting injured. Same with Davis.
Would be nice if one of our new signings was able to play some footy for us at some point in the new month or two !!
Some of the most memorable Watford games I've seen have been in the League Cup. So sad to see us treat the competition as an irrelevance these days
I do agree, but on the other hand, I do think that the whole of this competition including it's general importance has been massively downgraded since those days.
That's true, but I don't get why that should be. It's one of only 3 competitions we enter so surely we should be trying to do as well as we can in all of them. Back in 'the good old days' we managed to combine going for promotion with a decent cup run so why can't we do the same now?
