It might not be an accident to post it to Instagram, but it might be to post it publicly.

I don't know if you can restrict the people who see an Instagram post (I'm useless with social media), but if you can, he might have meant to post it to a small group (or even just one person) and got it wrong.

I am in no doubt I would screw up such a thing - at work I've accidentally replied to all in an email when I was intending to reply to one (which resulted in an rapid apology from me).

I agree with much of what has been said about it not being a good look for him or the club he works for but, as an older person who can struggle with nuances of technology, I'm prepared to concede that he did this accidentally.

And his late "I was hacked" probably came after calling friends frantically going "How do I deal with this?", until one went "Well, traditionally, you claim you were hacked"... :)

I think we're all close friends with him now.

    And his wife.

Presume whoever sent it could have added the butterflies ? Or they could have been there before the sender sent it ?

But, for argument's sake, you get a photo from your partner, which is clearly of a sensitive nature, which I would assume is just for your eyes only. What do you do? Oh yes.....accidently post it on Instagram, because he's old and doesn't know what he's doing. Lol......he's our Director of Football. I think he knows exactly how to use a mobile phone and his Instagram account.

Not really......he placed a butterfly over the last one he posted.

So I'll ask you the same question, what was his intention, if it wasn't an innocent mistake?

If this was a high profile successful DOF it would be all over the news and social media (regardless of how good at their job they were), if anything this is getting very little attention.

The guy is in his 50s, he spends his life on a mobile phone and he's had Instagram for 5 years, I'm sure he knows how to use it. It was clearly a mistake, maybe he'd had a drink or something, who knows? Trying to make it look like a hacker is even more embarrassing than the actual picture though.

God knows what his intention was - could well have been ‘I’m rich and have a woman who sends me these photos, I’ve had a beer and I’m going to share them’ - we simply don’t know.

I’m not out here trying to lynch the guy for it. Like I said, it’s hardly the crime of the decade stuff - I’m just looking at what he’s posted and the manner in which he’s posted it and I struggle to believe it’s an actual mistake in terms of ‘I didn’t mean to do that’ - to me it looks more like an error of judgment.

Seems odd to come at this from the angle of ‘he’s a doddery old foreign man’ though when he’s a highly paid, executive not yet at retirement age.

So you’re point of ‘who cares what he posts on his social media’ doesn’t hold water? That’s all I’m saying Malts!

Exactly my take on it too. Not a mistake, but an error of judgement. It builds a profile of a person. Someone who is sleazy, untrustworthy with poor judgement. We have evidence to support this. Poor record in the transfer market (poor judgment), saying he was hacked and the reason given for selling Cucho (untrustworthy), sending photos of his wife across Instagram (sleazy).

I think he's just a little bit strange, so him posting what he did, didn't really surprise me. Just as with whatever Bas gets up to, it just doesn't surprise me.

Or it shows he’s a human being with actual feelings and a good humour?

He’s also Italian, a race generally perceived as being more amorous than stuff upper lip Brits.

    Why?

Do I think he’s crap at his job? Yes

Do I wish we had somebody better doing it? Definitely.

Am I unhappy with our window so far? Yes.

Would I post a half naked picture of my girlfriend anywhere? No most definitely not. Never.

Should I feel outraged by somebody else doing so? No. I wouldn’t do it myself but I’m not going to waste my day worrying about what others do.

Besides I’m way too busy trying to stay alive in what the Met Office keep telling me is the apocalypse and trying to remember their advice to drink lots of water as I’d never have figured that out otherwise.

    What was humorous about it?

I can’t answer that as I didn’t post it nor do I follow him so I am not one of those intended to see it.

It’s certainly not the sort of thing I find humorous and as I’ve said already, I wouldn’t do such actions but I’m not going to spend the day feeling morally outraged about it.

Far more pressing matters in the day.

Try to keep life in some sort of proportion would be my friendly advice.

I reckon if we’d announced a new signing today (unlikely I know lol) then hardly anybody would be bothering posting about this topic.

I just think it's the most plausible scenario. 55 year old misclicks a couple of times on a social media app, or man who knows he's in the public eye brazenly chooses to post a nude of his wive to thousands of strangers, for kicks. What's more likely?

I think you’re getting your wires crossed over the reaction. You’re the only one constantly talking about moral outrage, I haven’t seen any moral outrage, I think most people don’t care about the content, they’re just viewing the episode as an error of judgement. I don’t think anyone on here would be daft enough to post such a thing, so it’s somewhat of a concern when the guy in charge of buying players for our club makes such an obviously stupid decision.

I don’t think it needs a poor taste Instagram post to show most of us here how prone this man is to making errors of judgement!

I know. A button accidentally gets pressed when my phone is in my pocket and hey presto, a naked photo of my wife appears on my social media. Don’t you just hate it when that happens?

Luckily for Giaretta he has his butterfly filter switched or else it could have been much worse.

I actually find it a pleasant surprise when pics of your wife appear in my inbox/twitter feed. I had assumed she was sending them herself though ????
