Unlikely. A team composed of past it players on ridiculous contracts, players who think they're better than they are but didn't attract any bidders in the summer, a couple of Udinese fringers who can't quite understand why they're here and a teenage Colombian who's been duped into thinking we will catapult him into the big leagues. We will fold and history will be made as the players just won't "get" it once again.
All the so called stars who want a big move away will miraculously be fit to play and have a blinder. A bizarre last game of the season 3-3
Foster Ngakia Kabasele Cathcart Kamala Gosling Kayembe Sissoko Kalu JP Sema Bachmann, Samir, WTE, Masina, Morris, Etebo, Baah, Cukur, Grieves Chelsea 6 - 0 Watford 'Orns!
They won't play. They're being left out because every time they stink the place out their value drops by 1m.
Thank god this is the last game of the season. Worst season I have ever endured. I hope we get battered again just to top it off. Chelsea 6-0 Gino
Might be the last game they ever play if the sale doesn't go through Just imagine supporting a club that folds, and who's last ever home game was a 0-3 defeat to already relegated Watford.
My Chelsea chum is concerned that we will give them a tough afternoon, as having already qualified for European competition, they are aiming to play their youngsters - I told him not to worry to much as unfortunately `we have peaked too early`.
Having missed the Leicester game I'm looking forward to spending Sunday afternoon with like-minded misery junkies. Can't see anything but total humiliation from this. Bring it on!
I can see a scenario where Norwich draw with Spurs and we trail 14-0 at Chelsea. Their game finishes but we are still playing and score in the final minute. Duxbury and Gino are seen punching the air in delight and hugging each other as they are aware the significance of the goal means Watford, who would have been bottom, move up to 19th place and earn an extra £2m, to be paid in hierarchy bonuses.
We could go down having lost 3-0 at home to both our fellow relegated sides - a good reflection of how bad the season has been. Not sure which is worse, that or the fact that we beat two of our relegation rivals 3-0 in 2019/20 yet still went down and finished below them both.
Quite often teams that have already been relegated play with the shackles off and cause the odd upset. Really looking forward to this and backing the Hornets for an away win. Hope we play that 3-5-2 again, that was great.
That season we at least played well in patches and for a long time sat 17th, even with a cushion after we beat Newcastle and Norwich at home. Then it fell to bits and Covid hit etc. This season is worse - the team we have now is miles away from the one who thrashed Liverpool 3-0 at the Vic. This season has been a rotten egg from start to finish, I haven't been to the Vic since we lost to Wolves and Serirraltra scored that OG. We maybe relegated officially now, but tbh we were not getting out of the bottom three when we lose 0-3 to Norwich at home. A pitiful performance by all angles.
Chelsea have been very susceptible to playing the teams down at the bottom battling for their futures. 5 nil Chelsea Gurning goalie blowing kisses at the end because he thinks it's funny
Hope, expectation, new signings we’ve never heard of, 46 games, 2 REAL derbies, new manager, no Lineker or Shearer. Possibility of finishing anywhere from 1st to 24th. What’s not to like ?
Quite true, look at the Leicester game. Unfortunately most didn’t have Roy “make defensive substitutions to protect a 1:3 deficit” Hodgson in charge.
I say we don't turn up and take the 3-0 defeat handed out for not playing. Imagine some of our fans may still applaud after the non-game. I would.
That was a significant part of what made that relegation hard to take, we were so much better than those sides in the 3-0 wins but Villa stayed up at our expense and Bournemouth went down with us but still finished above us. Losing 3-0 at home to two other relegated sides (if Leeds go down) is comparably bad in a different way, just bad in an absolute sense and an exemplar of how terribly disappointing this season has been.
