Thank goodness the season will be over. In truth it's been over for the club for a long while perhaps even when the season started.

Mentally the scars will take a long time to heal. The damage caused by the manner of relegation will be felt into next season unless radical changes are made.

Changes to playing staff, support staff for Edwards like a psychologist, scouting and recruitment and two idiots realizing they are well above their pay grade for doing what they do so badly.

Radical changes means an almost entire overhaul of the playing staff and Edwards trying to convince those worth keeping to stay and buy into his management model and playing style.

The club is in a really low ebb. Everything has been badly mismanaged from the top. There's precious little to savour from this season which undoubtedly is one of the worst in the club's history.

We have to try and keep getting better in every regard but those in charge have fallen well short. Really they ought to fall on their swords but they won't so we have to hope against hope they will let Edwards build the side in his vision and do what he wants.

Having watched the shambles today I am sure Rob is aware of the Herculean nature of the task he has.

    Ask Roy.

We may as well put eleven training cones out - won't make a difference. Chelsea are going to destroy us next week.

Only need a 2-2 draw in this to avoid this being statistically our worst Premier League season, LOL.

Amazing that a squad that contains attacking players like Sarr, Dennis, Pedro, King and Cucho could end up with fewer goals than the Taylor team that didn’t have a striker of note until the signing of H in the new year.

Interesting that you don’t consider Sir Thomas of Mooney to be a “striker of note”, or were you factoring in that he was injured for most of that season?

I have a funny feeling we will sneak a win here. Actually just checked the table and they need to get at least three points from two games to confirm champions league with Leicester next.

So, amazingly, we won’t finish bottom unless Norwich beat Spurs.
Or they draw and we lose 15-0 to Chelsea…..

Looking forward to a nice Sunday afternoon out with my Dad his only away game this season. Few pints, comical defending, more records broken. He will love it.

TBH I’d forgotten about Mooney, probably because I only became a fan halfway through that season (my first game was the 2-3 against Liverpool) and IIRC Mooney didn’t play at all for the rest of the season. I remember Allan Smart getting the odd goal and looking like he was going to be top scorer, before being pipped to it by Heidar thanks to his bicycle kick against Coventry.

I first misread the Rob as Roy and was thinking why should you care about the Herculean task possibly the most disliked manager in our history has in one game??

Then it dawned on me… :)

I honestly think that could happen. 15-0 I mean. It sounds incredible, but Watford are certainly bad enough for that to happen.

Considering the records we continue to break this season, that is not totally impossible for this lot to do. I remember watching Nottingham Forest lose 8-1 at home to Man Utd in the Fergie era, they played better than we did today. I don't think we will lose 15-0, but it might well be close to equaling the all time record loss of 9-0.

Hoping for 10-0 as an experiment to see how big a defeat our oddball fans will still clap at the end.

Didn't bother watching today, probably won't bother next week either. This pack of thundering dullards don't deserve my time or effort.

The last game of the season always throws up some odd games and results. Not that it would make any difference here.

Roy will refuse to play any academy players as per usual.

I look forward to this sorry chapter of our history being over. Shame it's the same book.

Whoever is picking the team needs to put in some of the younger players to see if they have got what it takes.

The academy has been underfunded for years. There’s no great hopes coming through as we’d have heard about them and it wouldn’t be hard for anyone with a chance of making it to stand out against the rest.

I understand the clamour to want to see some homegrown lads play, especially when have to put up with the usual wasters every week. But I think it’s misguided clamour if anyone is hoping to see any players capable of breaking through.

I agree. I would not rule this out being a record breaking score. The manager doesnt care infact seems to be sabotaging things. The second string players have largely given up as well.

This team has the ability to concede at any given time. Gifts goals. Doesnt do the basics to defend. And has very low morale. A couple of goals early on and the flood gates could open

Yeah, if anything it’ll do them harm to be tarnished with the same brush as the absolute wasters who make up our first team squad.

For their own good, we need to protect them from the shambles that Sunday will be.

No I totally agree. It's purely based on the ineptness of some of the supposed first team. Jack Grieves has caught the eye by all accounts and just by giving them a taste couldn't cause any harm.

So as we all suspected, it all comes down to this last game. So much is resting on the shoulders of our brave brave boys. Twist or stick, win or bust, it's been a hell of a rollercoaster ride. Can't wait for another season like this, hopefully in 2 seasons time, when us and 2 other smaller clubs battle it out for positions in the bottom 3.
Chelsea 4 WFC 0, assuming Chelsea are 3-0 up after about 25 mins and then are mentally "on the beach" thereafter.

Also hopefully first home win against them in front of a crowd since whenever it was - although it's not our fault we've played them so little since the 1990s!

What time would that game be given the one without fans was a 12:30 kick-off!?
