I hate criticising us because it’s our club. I love it. I know everybody here loves it deep down too. I’m hurting tonight. You are too I’m sure. But really we are getting what we deserve. We have become so badly run. Our transfer policy is shambolic. Our attitude to hiring and firing head coaches is a farce. We’ve offered hardly anything all season and will go down with barely a whimper. And I doubt anybody will miss us much.

So many teams in the Championship would have coveted our position, winning promotion at the first attempt. And we’ve just made a total mess of it from the word go.

And sorry Chumlax but I do find RH odious, with his fake bonhomie, his habit of blaming everybody but himself, including us the supporters, and his horrible defensive habits.

I think he’s my least favourite coach under the Pozzo era, and considering my previous history that’s saying something.

So, so much to say but I am fasting right now so trying to stay peaceful.

All I will say is, every time you need Pozzo’s Watford to really put in a performance, to show character, with high stakes before the game, they manage to let you down. They find a way to shrink. No idea what the stats are on “comebacks” from Watford but I can bet my life it’s absolutely shocking. Utterly despicable from top to bottom, I hate this club right now.

Struggling to really blame the players though after today, Pedro tried, Kamara tried, Louza tried, Kucka tried. The usual culprits didn’t. But really it’s not a tactical thing that cost us, it’s recruitment and leadership decisions that are way above any of the players and Roy.

Scott Duxbury absolutely has to resign at the end of the season, Gino has just about enough favour left in the bank. We thought it was Giraldi, nothings changed, if anything it got worse, now let’s remove Scott and if that doesn’t fix anything, time for Gino to go.

We did our usual trick of letting a late goal on to really rub it in ..

I think we have given away more sloppy goals than been carved open by other teams this season, games up now, all but down.

    Utterly pathetic.

We just put a yellow shirt on whatever Mogi Bayat sh_ts into his toilet bowl and hope some random contractor manager can somehow make it work.

Even if you ignore the quality of the players, most of them have no fight and those that have will never develop and get consistency with the non-existent manager strategy.

Complete shambles on and off the pitch. Holebas was right in many ways. Sick of this sh_t.

Apologies to anyone near the front of the family stand I may have upset when the third goal went in and I stood up and screamed "f_ck off!", before giving 2 fingers and walking out.

    • Didn’t look like scoring again
    • Abysmal decision making from every player again
    • Terrible passing from every player again
    • Foster’s kicking was awful again
    • The ‘valuable assets’ Sarr and Dennis were absolutely atrocious again

Awful game by us. Samir can **** right off. Sarr and Dennis too. Honestly only Kamara, Louza and Kucka (surprisingly) tried. The rest of the lot just ran around a bit and pretended to care. Sarr didn't even try to pretend.
I think today that's us down unless we achieve a miracle. A silly early goal to concede, followed by an hour of us trying to get back into it without getting a single shot on goal followed by another error. Brentford and City will destroy us and Everton will beat us and that will be that. I have hopes Burnley can beat Everton though.
Uncle Woy can also **** off. Stupid substitutions that did nothing. Dennis did his usual nothingness, King is an incompetent bufoon and Kayembe had something like 8 touches and completely switched off for the third goal.
Can't wait for Foster to get out of here. Join Hashtag United for all I care but get out. How bad can Elliot and Angellini trully be I wonder?

I know the usual simpletons will jump on this as me not supporting the club and wanting what’s best for us but I really think the best thing that could happen is to not get promoted again. If that were to happen lessons might actually get learned, for real. I’m actually fearful we get promoted again and we remain stuck in the purgatory of treating managers like RyanAir pilots and signing players who either can’t wait to leave or are just old and useless.

I thought the atmosphere was pretty decent at the start of the game but yet again we played like we were blindfolded, so what’s the next excuse from the dribblers? The ball wasn’t regulation size? We were put off by Leeds’ ghastly kit?

I agree @a19tgg . I’d be happy with Diego Martinez next season, leading a team of younger players, supported by just a few quality signings in positions we actually need them most.

I think most of us know we will get another journeyman head coach who won’t last the season, and a transfer summer that will see double figures for departures balanced up with journeymen signings, loanees nobody else wants and the usual cast-offs from Udinese.

January was the second successive transfer window while we were fighting relegation from the PL that we brought in players who then couldn’t/didn’t make the starting eleven. How is this allowed to happen?

I know what you mean, but I just can’t see it happening. We need a complete reset, from top to bottom. There are so many things that obviously need to change, but we lack a leader with the vision and more importantly, the desire, to implement such a change.

Lots of us hoped that being relegated last time would lead to lessons being learned, but that has turned out to be a complete and utter pisstake.

We have no vision, no guiding philosophy or purpose. We don’t develop players or coaches. We stand for nothing. We just exist. As I said earlier in the thread, our club is completely empty.

Lessons won’t be learned. We’ll do the same again. If we go up, we’ll do the same again. If we don’t go up, we’ll face financial oblivion.

Fuccking bleak, but Pozzbury are who they are, and as long as they keep feeding their shyte to the social media mob, those pricks will keep on eating it.

You know what's even sadder, even in defeat, I had a bit of pride supporting Watford. Even when we were pretty rubbish, I could say I support my local team, it's a well run family club that gives opportunities to young up-and-coming talent. Rodgers who's now one of the best managers in the world, Ashley Young, the likes of Danny Graham and Troy Deeney plucked from League 1 firing them in a level above. The likes of Tommy Smith and Marvin Sordell coming through the academy then going on to see them in the Prem knowing they came from you, that was your club's contribution to the beautiful game in this country. Our cloggers would give it their all, we were a nice pleasant bunch for an away day but we wouldn't just bend over and give you the points or nearly inevitably always concede 2, 3 and 4 after the first one in some weird implosion ritual.

We don't have that anymore? We stand for very little. We're not a classy club. When I meet new people now and they ask who I support I don't feel like saying Watford with my chest, I can't defend my rubbish unfashionable club, justifying it with how we do the best we can with what we have. Now I have to hear about how rubbish we are but also how despicable we are and I'm afraid I can no longer defend it because sadly, it's true. We are a horrible football club, who are just a nuisance in the Prem and this year we've barely even been a nuisance very well, just up and then down in one fell swoop as if it never even happened to anyone outside of us Watford fans.

Hodgson post-game has said Watford have ‘no reason’ to feel confident about survival. And there are no words or even training he can give them to make them win….so what’s his job?

    https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/20057834.roy-hodgson-says-watford-no-reason-feel-confident/

Whilst I agree with him and he’d be rightly ridiculed if he suggested positivity was running through the clubs veins, what good do his actual chosen words do?

It’s his job to give them confidence and positivity going into games so it’s no wonder performances are as bad as they are when he’s the one preparing them.

Yes the players are dreadful. No they aren’t good enough. But this death-march to relegation under a manager who simply can’t be bothered is totally illogical…what’s happening now and the hit the club is taking won’t just suddenly eradicate once the season is over. The squad will be in disarray (I bet not one player would say no to a move when their agent presents one), staff will be laid off (again) and there’s gonna be an almighty job for anyone coming in to lift the place again.

So do it it now. Get Hodgson gone, let a new guy see some of the players he will have to work with and let him at least try and salvage some spirit, mood and confidence.

You have to wonder what GT must be thinking right now. Nine home losses on the spin? Unheard of. I don't know why we continue to play like turd in front of our own fans, it's still a pitch with two goals either end - it's the same game of football home or away. No love for this club in any of the current bunch bar maybe one or two. Gino uses us as a trading hub and has no vision for us going forward, I agree with what @a19tgg said. A few seasons below this level is what we need. Sell Sarr for as much as we can to lesson the financial hit a little, but we are going to be cash-strapped for a long time unless we get a new billionaire owner who clears it all, which probably won't happen.

It’s all been said at this point. I for one feel somewhat relieved. It was highly unlikely we were going to win the matches we needed to to stay up , with our appalling home form , but the Soton result gave me some false hope again. At least that’s pretty much it now . We are championship bound .

Fortunately I have covid so couldn’t go to watch yet another miserable home defeat and could switch my iPad off when the third goal went in.

Just looking forward to next season and seeing us compete and actually win some matches again.
