Our previous match. I thought I'd write a Watford related poem of sorts. The chances of Watford staying up Are a million to one they say The chances of Watford staying up Are a million to one But still they come Come the Watford fans to matches Come with hope Come with passion Come with eternal love Come together Come as one Ken Sema, Sema Whatever will be, will be The future is Ken's to see Mystic Sema, Sema I could go on and write some more random words but I'll finish my lame poems right here. As for my thoughts towards the Arsenal match, we are capable of winning it. We played well last November at their place, only losing one nil. Arsenal didn't have a game on the weekend, but if we can continue our strong defensive form, we can easily pull off a one nil win. COYH!
A 1-0 win against Arteta's whinging cheating Arsenal would be a thing of beauty. They bottled it against Spurs playing the "covid" card so to me they're now the new Bournemouth. Put your mortgage on a red card here.
As much as I want us to win this, I don't think we will. For me, that boils down to two main reasons. One, is Arsenal are in good form and are in pole position for a top four finish. There is little chance of them rolling over and having a bad game. Second, is more about us. We have never won back to back games, and only managed to be unbeaten in a two game run I think twice? 95% of the time we have followed up a hard earned point or a rare win with a sloppy, lackluster defeat. Our home form is possibly the worst in the PL. and it is true we are generally playing pretty well as of late away from home. I really want to be proven wrong, and we walk out of the Vic at 17.00 on Saturday with three points and a step towards possible safety. I just cannot see it. We played well against Villa and were extremely lucky to get a point a Utd due to some pretty woeful finishing and a god-like Foster performance. How did we follow up the win at Villa? Played one of the worst halves in many years as Palarse never got out of second gear and played us off our own patch 4-1. Unless Roy spends this week drilling it into our players that our home from will be key in staying up (considering we have to play Everton, Leeds, Brentford and Burnely) all at the Vic - then Arsenal will have no trouble as we saunter to another half-arsed home performance as other teams around us pick up points. Watford 1 Arsenal 3
Well when I say we will get a positive result we don’t so and vice versa. 5-0 Arsenal ! Bit of mixed feelings this one for some fans I suspect .
Cannot stand Arsenal. Arteta. The histrionics of the players. The constant diving and gamesmanship. The fans who always end up in the boxes in the GT stand. I hope if they kick it out for an injury we don’t give it back to see how upset they and Arteta get. The hypocrisy would be fantastic. You just know our players don’t care enough to ruffle feathers like that though and will just give it back to them.
Pure poetry if we got a last minute equaliser/winner when their player was down injured. Won't happen though and if it did it would be for 1-4.
It’s been brought to my attention that this post has caused some offence to others on here. So I just want to take a moment to reassure my fellow Reds, Cityzens, Red Devils and Geordies that of course I’ll cheer for you too. But this weekend isn’t the time or the place for it.
I guess this ref will remember what a handball is if Arsenal get a shout in our area. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/19958583.craig-pawson-referee-watford-versus-arsenal/ Done HB1's job for him!
Nah, to me Arsenal are the least objectionable of the big six (perhaps it's because I grew up in Highbury and know a fair few reasonable Arsenal fans, including my older brother, although he's mostly an armchair one) - the Emirates is a great stadium and away trip and I enjoyed the football they played during the Wenger era. I can't say I fully condone their players' antics, but while I haven't noticed much about Arteta as a person either way, he seemed to have done a pretty good job with what's still a pretty weak Arsenal team, building a young side with more English players and a good team spirit who are very good defensively. We will have our work cut out just to avoid an eighth straight home defeat.
You'll quickly wonder what you were excited for when Clevs has to overstretch for the 6th time because his first touch knocks the ball 5 yards ahead of him. Happy for you though, hopefully they can turn up and put in a performance for you.
Most times when teams comes from behind to beat us like this, one thing is certain, King or Sissoko missed a glorious chance to put us 2-0 up. Sent from my TECNO P701 using Tapatalk
Arsenal fans are delusional ***** and Arsenal TV is tragically embarrassing. I remember their fans called the FA Cup the 'Arsenal Cup' before we beat them at their place in the QF.
To be honest the Emirates would be a better place to study than the old library at my secondary school - it was virtually impossible to get any work done before they built an extension where the library was moved and thankfully they employed a librarian to tell everyone to be quiet.
