Probably being in a lower league helped.

i don't think our fans are vocally negative.

Sure it's not a crackling atmosphere but doesn't tend to be regardless of what is going on.

The majority of them from about 12 yards or closer. Dreadful finishing got us the point today, the defending was all over the place.

It depends where the 22 shots are from .
Good info and fair enough point that we rode our luck today.
However only 3 on target , 1 more than us , which is good defending

More to the point can the fans put in a WHOLEHEARTED performance and be a twelfth man for the lads right from kick off to the final whistle, because if we can I really think that might give the lads the momentum to finally start winning at home again.

Why are you confused, is it because you said something positive and are actually contradicting most of what you normally say on here?

Maybe you should have a lie down and give yourself a talking too ;)

TBF anyone's frustration is understandable .
Somehow we are still in touch . Just. Leeds and Brentford look like they are in big trouble.

This season we’ve only taken points in 9 of our matches.

Six of those have come against the same three opponents..Villa, Man U and Newcastle!

Everton and Burnley will give us another two opportunities to secure points off the same opponents twice.

Leeds and Brentford are there for the taking IMO.

Therefore if we can win 5/6 of those very winnable games of which Leeds & Brentford at home are two of them, I really believe we can overhaul those two and keep Norwich below us to finish in 17th spot....

Put another way, our 19 points have come against only 6 clubs.

I believe it is possible . But our home form has to improve AND we have to be able to attack
another way than simply the counter attack

It feels like a win, and yes, I know feelings won't keep us up, but, it's more proof Roy is generally taking this team in the right direction. We Need to find a winning formula for the games at home against the lower half of the prem teams, but if anyone can do it, Roy can. It's not quite over yet.

Surely recent months have shown that if anything the more optimism our fans have going in to a game the more likely we'll get spanked, and vice-versa.

That's not quite right - if anything we've often seemed too passive in recent winnable home matches - vs Norwich and Palace we were very negative with the ball and generally invited them on to us. In both games we actually only seemed like a decent team who could get something from the match during the brief periods in the first half where we actually sped up our play and focused on attacking and penning the opposition in.

Good points. If only we had a "schemer" like Will Hughes for example . Surely we would break the bank for that type of player ?

Was lucky today but sometimes you need some luck and we’ve not had much this season. Thought Sarr had put that away with last kick of the game. Oh well still I find myself stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I want us to survive or at least make an exciting fight for survival but then if we do the pozbury regime looks like they made all the right decisions and will continue with this mad approach of recruiting cheap defenders and hope to make profit on the odd rough diamond, whilst spending more money paying off numerous coaches.

Subs today made it harder I thought for the players that were out there king ken huffed and puffed as did Kuco.

Louza had another good game and was my motm.

It doesn't show that at all - the Premier League is easily the best league in the world right now and English teams with English teams performing better than those from any other country in Europe yet again.

It's rather that things are increasingly difficult for PL clubs with each season that the standard improves.

The top 2/3 are the best and certainly dominate I agree .

Rest very average and inconsistent- some might say competitive .

Have to say having seen the highlights we did get lucky with 2 sitters missed but Foster made some good saves too.

I think it all shows our biggest problem is in midfield, and then our defence fails and our attack is chasing scraps. The days of Abdi, later capoue and then doucoure and the like are long gone and it's only now we can reflect how far down we've come.?
We've got a mid championship midfield at best and the only way we can compete in the prem is to play negative and hope for the odd draw (just like the 2000 season)!!

I don't think that every player is Champ standard, to the point we do not have a Prem standard play maker . Just my 2 Bob

I don't care how badly we played or lucky we were, a point at Old Trafford in our position is a great result. Leeds, Brentford and Everton are falling apart, can we stop being sh1t for long enough to catch them? of course we can! COYH!

I’d argue we’ve actually regressed since he’s taken over. Today’s result is purely outcome bias because the performance was horrendous

Yes today was lucky and home games haven’t been great as usual but the 3 other away games performances were ok weren’t they - defensive wise anyway but yes we will need to be more positive in future games .

  31. LouOrns

Outcome bias is the evaluation of the outcome rather than what actually happened. Was the point good? Sure. Did we play well? Absolutely not — it was even worse than Palace, the only difference was the scoreline

Burnley was terrible I thought, same with West Ham. Second half vs Villa was really good, but seems like that was a one off

  34. Defending today was horrendous. Some of that was non league standard! I must have said "OH MY GOD" about a dozen times at least.

Kucka. Geez, did he actually pass to a Watford player in the 12 minutes or so he played or just all to man u players?!!

Sarr looked like he'd already signed for Liverpool and was saving himself from putting in any effort or danger.

Foster was immense. "Banging mate". "What a baller".

Someone should've called the police at the end because a point was a bloody robbery.

The zero goals they scored against at us at their home which has never happened before in the entire history of Watford FC.

Other than that we were a DISGRACE.
