Did you go? I have a lot of time for your outlook HB1 - but we did not play very well. Utter garbage earlier in the season has conditioned us to believe that ‘better’ is ‘very well’ maybe . That’s as far as anyone should go.
I thought Cleverley and Kucka both did the jobs were expected of them. They got back into shape quickly, picked up some loose balls and ran until their 33/34 year old legs predictably couldn't go anymore. The problem is that that selection was full Quique. We didn't go to win that match at all. We only had two attacking players on the pitch for the vast majority of the game. If the masterplan is to try and play for 0-0 draws with two aged central midfielders as our wide players, then we are even more ****ed than before. If we're lucky, we might pick up the odd draw against the worst teams in the league but we are not going to win any games. Would genuinely rather have kept Xisco for the whole season if this is the way we're going to go down.
Think that was when we had the subs lined up too. I was screaming at the TV for someone to get at them and break their possession so we could make our changes. Even a cheap foul would have made sense. But no, our docile lot just shuffled from side to side and let West Ham take the piss.
If you start threatening fellow fans for criticising the team , but don’t offer a single bit of enthusiasm yourself . Kindly shut the f*** up and stay at home . So many idiots tonight at the game
Remember when QSF kept us up in our first Pozzo PL season - and was sacked because it was about ‘style’ and not just about keeping us up? Tell me again about the Pozzo Model….
61% pass completion, no interceptions, 0 tackles won and ball watched for their goal. We can’t seriously think we’re going to win games with a midfield 4 of Cleverley, Kayembe, Sissoko and Kucka
I watched the entire game. I thought we matched a team, who are 4th, away from home. We played well tonight. Defence was rock solid. They hardly had a sniff. Look what they did to us at home. They destroyed us. Tonight they got lucky. It is a huge improvement. I'm not sure what fans expect. Hodgson has only been here for 5 minutes and the difference to how we look now, to how we were, is stark. We are now hard to break down. If you're not leaking soft goals, then you always have a chance. We look like a really decent side now. Still a work in progress, but I'm really liking the progress we're making under Hodgson.
Just need to get the rules changed so we can play 4-4-2 with an extra winger. Sent from my DN2103 using Tapatalk
Nothing between us except they had more shots, more shots on target, made far more passes, won more duels, won more in the air and hit the post a couple of times. And that was a West Ham team so clearly underperforming. If you're happy with that then great, but those performances aren't going to keep us up. But thank you, I am feeling validated.
At this point, I feel like everyone saying it'll be okay is lying to themselves, rather than actually believing that.
The misery you exude is toxic. But you're not on your own. There are many are like you on here. It's not what the team needs right now. We're up against it. We all have believe and give off positive energy. That's beyond most it seems. Still, I have faith in the coach and the team that we have enough to get out of the relegation zone. If we don't then you can crow about it all summer.
Don't watch the Newcastle highlights for god's sake. Players pouring forward in their attacks with pace and directness. Lascelles scored an own goal and a minute later won a monster header for the equaliser. They're still mainly crap but they are going to try and score goals and win games, which will be enough. We are going to try to hang in games and we'll lose them narrowly, whilst never taking the game to opponents. Containment looks like Roy's gameplan, with the worst defence in the league. It's going to be **** and it's going to be boring at the same time.
Would be a brave man to bet that our next managerial appointment won't be someone young and fun with 'fresh ideas' and an 'attacking philosophy' to get the best out of the hungry, talented squad that Gino has assembled being as we just seem to swing from one extreme to the other.
There's saying we'll be OK and there's saying no we won't but not everyone in the shirt is utterly shyte and doesn't want to win. Sent from my DN2103 using Tapatalk
For Cleverley was a pretty decent attempt to be fair, decent save too. Only remember it as it was one of the brighter moments!
‘Going down with the Watford’/‘We’re ******* ****’ chants again? Was Roy there or was he still attached to the Borehamwood bandwagon?
Yep, the Eddie Howe way. They only need to outperform three other teams, have added players to achieve that and even brought a ludicrously creative midfielder as well. Ah creative midfielders. Those were the days.
The team will get some positive energy from fans when they start doing their jobs properly. Even Roy has said it, it's time for the players to take responsibility. How about they roll their sleeves up, show some backbone (which has been missing since August) and win some ******* games of football? Maybe then they'll start getting some praise from the fans, or do the little darlings need telling how wonderful they are every day?
Just minutes ago people were saying we deserved something from tonight’s game and were ‘very good’…..
