In a parallel world Udinese beat Torino 2-0 in their last game in Serie A with both Zeegalaar and Success in the starting 11 :)

This is pitiful. Below some proper grim teams on fanhub including those terds up the road.

No he did not appear to be injured at all despite being kicked up in the air on several occasions throughout the match.

I think he was perhaps getting a little tired having been out injured for so long, plus he did put himself about a fair bit during the match and made 3/4 very decent crosses that Mane failed to get on the end of.

In fact I thought Mane had a **** game by his standards but manged to end up the hero because he scored the winning penalty in the shoot out, which masked over his lack lustre display throughout the match and the fact he also missed a penalty very early in the match, that probably would have forced Egypt to come out and play and made the match far more entertaining IMO.

Zeegalaar was on the left of a back three
Agreed with @WillisWasTheWorst don't head West unless you're doing a little shopping.
Watched them against Kidderminster and in all honesty they got lucky. I just hope Zouma puts in a performance like he did on Saturday. Slight chance that Antonio is out too which would be a plus. West Ham are a decent side but they're beatable. As I've said before I'd take a point from any away game normally but we need points and quickly to gain confidence and pressure those in and around us. I've got a feeling we will nick it late on with a scrappy goal 0-1.

I don’t think we can take too much from the FA Cup games unfortunately. Newcastle lost to Cambridge immediately before their game with us, Utd and Leicester went out to Championship opposition as did Arsenal in round 3, Bournemouth went out to the wood, Chelsea struggled, as did WHU. Nobody takes the 3rd or 4th round seriously anymore, which is a shame but it’s no way reflective of how a team will perform when it comes to their bread and butter of the Premier League.

We've been over this. FA Cup results only don’t matter when WE lose in it.

Wrong, FA Cup results don't matter even before we've kicked a ball.

As has been pointed out repeatedly on this forum, our record over the years has shown literally zero correlation between our FA Cup results and performances and any subsequent results and performances in the following league games.

That's before you even consider that the FA Cup isn't even really worth anything on its own merit.

Did anyone ever go to Upton Park? It was one of the few grounds I have never been too and obviously never will now. What was the atmosphere like?

I went there only once, for the FA Cup match in 2006/07 - I think I watched the league game two weeks later on a stream. Both matches were pretty similar - us nicking it 1-0 through first half goals from players who were nowhere near good enough for the Premier League. Amazing that West Ham managed to eventually turn it around. Unfortunately I don't remember anything about the atmosphere (except outside the ground pre-match, the area seemed pretty vibrant), my memory of that season is a bit of a blur with match upon match we failed to win and even this one wasn't a classic!

If the quotes attributed to him are correct, Hodgson has not ruled out Sarr playing tomorrow. Says we need him ‘badly’.

In the 70s & 80s it was an absolute cauldron of hate....from the point you left the station to run the gauntlet of lines of Spammer spotters looking to pick out away fans to almost certainly having to 'stand your ground' no matter where you were in the stadium.

3-2 spam. Well take a 2-0 lead into injury time, before a late collapse is followed by the team fighting with each other

I’d be laying a car on from the airport straight to the ground - have his kit ready in the back and he can get changed on route.

    A jet-lagged Sarr > Fletcher.

Were there fewer kids at away games back then, and did those who went invariably go in sizable groups and/or accompanied by adults? Match days seemed a lot less safe than they are now, and even in the relative safety of the away stand, if it was a terrace the younger fans could get easily lost in the excitement from scoring a goal.

Looking forward to some pre-match hydration in Borough Market but not the needlessly long yomp from the station past the ghastly soviet-type flats to the athletics stadium. I can't see beyond us getting a whipping, I'm afraid. The honeymoon will be over for Woy

Young kids stood at the front. There was often an enclosure in front of the stand with seats in, so
kids could watch from there with less risk of getting crushed.

A 3-0 down to earth loss after the giddy heights of a 0-0 at the one-win-in-ten bottom club.

It’d be so Watfordy to get smashed by a team who scraped by some non-league no-hopers after extra time.

Seems like he just has no idea what the plan is with Sarr, at least going by the BBC live text thing:

Went to my first ever game of football at Upton Park in around 1978. It was a bit lively to say the least but much better than their current home

FA Cup 3rd Round Jan 1978...we were starting to stretch our lead at the top of Div 4 whilst they were near the foot of the old Div 1. 'Pop' Robson scored for them quite late on as they beat us 1-0. Spent a lot of the game trying to keep my feet in contact with the floor as the whole crowd was surging up & down the terraces as we fought off almost continuous attacks by Spam fans all around...no segregation those days & I can still recall the chant of 'South Bank, South Bank, do your job' reverberating around the ground, with things getting nastier the longer the score remained at 0-0.
Subsequent visits weren't much more pleasant, but al least everyone knew what was coming.
