So after finally getting our first clean sheet of the season, Watford make the short trip to West London to take on David Moyes' high-flying Hammers on Tuesday night, which should a be a very good game of two really attacking sides, plenty of blood, sweat and tears and the usual clash of the titans that this fixture usually brings. Only joking, it will be us pegged back in our own half for 85mins trying to not concede the opening goal while somehow wishing we can nick a goal against the run of play. Let's face it, we used to have a pretty good record against West Ham. However, they have slapped us 4-1 twice now at the Vic and we hardly turned up for the reverse fixture. Although we didn't think it could get any worse before Norwich came to town. Our home form is pretty concerning, and I know the old saying is "win your home games", but we seem to be performing a little better away. At Burnley we huffed and puffed and got Pawson'ed out of a iron clad penalty, so let's hope we have a better referee this time around. West Ham are having an exceptional season, and have been in and around the "top six" for most of the season. They have had dodgy spells here and there, and did lose their previous game at home. They are forever blowing bubbles up the league table and Moyes has got them playing them nice attractive football. Going there isn't going to be easy, we know that and I think coming off the back of only our 15th point of the season last night, getting another point away at West Ham would be a good return from two away fixtures. Lineup I expect little change from Woy. With Dennis now served his one game suspension he will almost certainly be put back into the side. We lacked a goal scoring threat at Turd Moor and at least in Dennis, we have a player who can bury a chance. Whether or not he is over his AFCON issues is too early to tell. Another clean sheet would be great, but we are very unlikely to keep West Ham out as well as we did Dyche's lot. Let's hope we can avoid defeat here, and try to play catch up. Prediction: West Ham 1 Watford 1
Would be pretty surprised if this is the game the 'great escape' switch is flicked to the 'on' position, and West Ham seem to have our number like they are dementors sucking any remaining fight or application from our team as we step onto the pitch. Sema being displaced in the starting lineup would be victory enough (except from an avoiding relegation point of view, of course).
Well there will be nothing to moan about if we win, which will take the oxygen from a lot of the regular posters, until at least Saturday.
Yeah, again, this is just total bollox, isn't it - it's funny how you endlessly try and present yourself as this forum's paragon of rationality and wisdom, and simultaneously cycle through these ridiculous, repetitive, invented crusades. Presumably purely for shyts and gigs, so you're having your fun; I get it. But it's a bit sad.
It’s always the same posters who react, so it is fun to wind up the negative. Fed up of reading everyone is sh1t from the same few posters, so I thought I would post something positive to really blow their fuses. It’s working.
Yes. I honestly think we’ll catch out West Ham. I think we’ll back it up with a win against Brighton too. But keep this to yourself. The forum is at a delicate stage and can’t handle too much optimism all in one go. I’ll just drip feed it in.
Feels like a good time to play them. Hopefully Roy won’t play Sema again. A point here and beating Brighton would really get us facing the right direction. To be honest as long as we play well losing here and beating Brighton still does the trick,
Dennis only got a one game ban didn’t he? Surely he should slot straight back in where Sema started Sat?
If Sarr and Dennis and our other new ace players start we win. If they don't, we lose. No excuses not to start Sarr. None whatsoever.
Honestly was thinking our next game was Brighton. This is on TV as well. After huge Covid breaks and the world's most pointless "winter break" I'd become used to one game per month.
It's literally win-win for me. Either Watford win and I'm pleased or Watford draw or lose and I get to whinge on here.
