After the same number of matches played, Crystal Palace currently have 5 fewer points than they did last season.

    Maybe attractive football is over-rated!

The Premier league following our 601st promotion - they are going to be jumping in the virtual pond in April 3223 - Watford known as the “YoYo’s” since 2198 have done it again.

It's pointless getting Hodgson if we dont give him a reliable fit keeper. Foster has missed half the season. Bachmann's season has been a car crashing into a trainwreck. We've lost 10 games in a row with Bachmann in goal. His points per game is 0.27. Why can't Scott and Gino see this!?!?!? Batsh1t crazy.

Official club interview says ‘deal initially until the end of the season, that could be extended’

If anything, I think Hodgson's approach will benefit Sarr. He built Palace around Zaha, and it wouldn't be a huge stretch to fit Sarr into a similar system.

I hope it is extended……………because it would mean we’ve stayed up and Hodgson has had a major positive impact.

If Gino’s relationship with Mogi Bayat doesn’t see us done for fraud, Roy Hodgson’s ‘friendship’ with Sepp Blatter surely will.

Big Sepp Blatter taking time out from his billion dollar corruption schemes to wish little old Watford well. We truly are massive.

Just hearing that the club have submitted a fresh proposal for construction of a new 40,000 seater stadium after the Bushey Hall Golf Club option was blocked; this time to be located on the site of a former camel racing track on the outskirts of Doha.

I mean theoretically couldn’t any deal necessarily be extended should both parties want to. Seems like semantics to me.

Well obviously. But there seems little reason whatsoever to put that in there unless there's some sort of agreement that it'll be looked at as a real option - as opposed to Hodgson saying 'I'll do 5 months and them I'm gone again.'

    Bit more than semantics.

If I had to guess it would be so they can frame any departure in the summer as a reflection of some kind of stability (rather than a short-term hiring) in order to dull any media criticism. “Hodgson, who will be here only until the end of the season...” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it.

They could easily have just said 'Hodgson, who has signed a deal until the end of the season...' or 'has signed a short-term deal'. Literally no need to embellish beyond that.

Because the other side to your theory is that the option is there, he keeps us up, and we get rid anyway.

He keeps us up but recognises that at 75 he can’t make any long-term commitments and we part ways.

Then why the need for the club to even mention it?! As I said, there isn't one. Seems obvious they are alluding to some sort of agreement.

We can happily agree to disagree. I'm getting a bit bored of all this back and forth with you at the minute.

Is it just me or does he call someone "Louza" twice in the training video?

Either he's calling someone the wrong name...or he's already got a nickname for someone.

We all know he won't see out the season. Either the players will get rid of him or Gino will. Mainly to avoid any chance of paying him the fat bonus he's promised him should he do the impossible and keep us up.

99.9% of our fans shouldn't be allowed out of the house, never mind on TV.

Enjoying all the reports about Hodgson and his relentlessly boring training sessions, drilling players into defensive shape oblivion.

I don’t have any hope he’ll keep us up, but my god, given how I hate the majority of our players, it gives me a little bit of sadistic pleasure to know they’ll at least have to suffer for their money now.

    Punish them, Roy.

Is it actually true the story about the players being rewarded with pizza once they got their first clean sheet?

Don't suppose that will happen now and they don't deserve it, having blown their chances against Brentford and Spurs - they'll just have to be content with the 1-3 points!

Openly mocking someone who clearly has /had mental health issues ( he mentions a suicide attempt ) , just because he doesn’t necessarily share your view. Very classy .

I will explain my position on this because, for a start, I am not mocking his mental health struggles at all. For whatever he has suffered, I am sorry for him, and I hope he doesn't have to suffer further in the future. I appreciate the importance of earnestly talking about mental health struggles a great deal.

What I am questioning is his inability to stop himself from mentioning the theme constantly, in a way that is very popular on social media these days, and smacks far more of being performative and self-congratulatory - designed to automatically attract praise and recognition of what a strong, amazing person they are from others who also wish to be recognised that way, by default, as well as a very clear backdoor way of essentially boasting/highlighting an 'achievement' of their own. It's always being mentioned, often attached to something in the context of Watford FC, but with very little or no relevance to it whatsoever.

To boot, the humour for me comes from the idea of him 'grafting', because I'm not entirely sure that being a teenager who chats some sycophantic ******** on your mate's Youtube channel about the football team you support for a couple of years counts as 'grafting'.

    So, there you go, mate.

This boy is as much a fan as you or I, he's eloquent, he's smart, he's got the guts to go on live tv and what's more he's courageous enough to admit he tried to kill himself not so long ago in the hope, I assume, to help other people going through tough times. You mocking him demeans us all.

    Shameful.

Again, I just explained this - I'm not mocking his actual mental health struggles, and nowhere did I make any comment about how much of a fan he is or isn't.

He looked good for his age back then - from what I saw of him last Friday, the Watford experience seems to have aged him four years rather than four months!

I agree with everything you say but we can't rule that he survived someone else's suicide attempt. They might have jumped off a bridge and landed on top of our Sam. The language is slightly ambiguous. Highly unlikely I admit. In which case good on u Sam for getting past that situation and carrying on living.
