Yep.....it looks like Rose was sending out these signals. Typical reaction from a guy who gets dropped from the first team squad. There are always stories defending Rose, that he's a good pro and goes the extra mile for the U23's etc, but that's the Tottenham U23's. I'm sure he is a decent guy, but he clearly has issues. If you are the player talking about unrest in the squad to a national paper, leading to the club having to announce the dreaded 'vote of confidence' then it's not going to end well for you. Rose has only himself to blame. He just couldn't move around the pitch well enough. That performance against City was probably one of the worst I've ever seen from a Watford player in my life, in terms of fitness. He's on par with Micky Quinn. He's had 5/6 months to get himself fit, but has failed. It's best that he goes.
Ranieri is trim and fit and in his seventies. You can’t blame him for taking one look at Rose waddling around the training pitch still grossly overweight four months after joining the club, and dropping him from the team. Good on him.
We were rumored to be going all in for Rose a couple of seasons' back I remember. At that point he was in the prime of his career and would of been a really good signing. He then signed an extension to his contract and that was that. Shame, as we instead got the twilight years Rose, who was the total opposite.
Never was their a more damming statement of a current Watford player. When you're in the fat f***** Quinn stage there's no hope left.
SkySports just have announced that Danny Rose has left. He was at the training ground earlier today and left for the last time, going elsewhere. Exclusive from Gary Cottrell.
Right move from the club. Just like it was the right move to sign him. We have money to burn, might as well spend it on something. It was the right move.
Now this is business done correctly. Of course it was to reverse the business done incorrectly in the summer but Gino deserves a new banner for this maybe.
I expect the residents of Shenley and Radlett are relieved. They will be able to see the skyline now Rose's kit will be removed from the Colney washing line.
Funny thing is he is one player Hodgson would have known well. So the club probably got him out before Roy made them change their minds! Expect some sort of exclusive interview with him in the papers soon.
And expect him to lay bare just how much of a mess this club is behind the scenes - and then expect a load of people on here choosing to ignore it or not believe him.
Ryan Taylor @RyanTaylorSport· 2m Fenerbah*e have been exploring loan deal for Watford’s Danny Rose (Turkish transfer window remains open). Talks were intensifying as of last night but move now seems unlikely Looks like Rose won't be on Tufan's plane after all.
Still, Rose has made history by being the first player to have TWO totally disastrous spells with Watford. He has bookended his career nicely.
Some Turkish Twatter accounts (no idea if reliable) saying Fenerbahce decided against signing Rose because of their fans reaction, others saying it was because of his physical state. Both could be true I guess.
So we signed a 30 year old on a two year deal (with an option for a THIRD year) and he's physically incapable of playing at this level despite 7 months of training. Not only that, we now can't get rid of him because other clubs can see how completely unfit he is!
I would’ve thought Tufan and Rose not leaving on the same plane was purely down to the pilot refusing it.
Was apparently in the Spurs end for their game tonight. I guess seeing as we have left him out, there’s zero harm in it - but it’s quite funny to me that we are probably paying him 40K a week to support a football team that isn’t us.
Sounds like Roy wanted Rose in the squad .. https://mobile.twitter.com/AdamLeventhal/status/1499833425901109248
We may not be paying him. Claim of breach of contract (don't know the details before any one asks). The analogy is he is on gardening leave and not allowed back in the office. With the lawyers. I would imagine they will come to an agreement
Not released, yet. A gem of a signing taking up huge wages for another year whilst sitting on his arse.
Be interesting to see how these relegation break clauses work. Cos he might be happy to just take his 50% wage cut as no-one else is going to sign him. Let's hope either party can trigger it or we're into classic Pozzo paying someone off territory...
