Football is complex, and success or failure is a fine line depending on a complex combination of variables - talent, luck, form, health, coaching, confidence etc etc

I don't see it as binary... you will of course disagree and think most of the squad are sh1t full stop

I don’t think most of the squad are sh1t actually so you’re wrong (again). I think the majority are average with a handful of real quality players. Sadly there’s is a percentage of the squad that are really not cut out for this level of football because they are either not ready yet - or they are crap at PL level. And sadly the vast majority of those that are crap are defenders.

It is binary in regards to what we have seen from our defenders this season. The number of goals conceded and unforced errors made tell the story. Saying it’s down to ‘confidence’ is ridiculous. They haven’t been good enough because they simply aren’t good enough.

But then again, I vividly remember you throwing insults around at the start of the season at anyone who dared to point out that the defence was short on numbers and quality so I am not surprised you can’t see it now because you would be admitting you were wrong.
