I think between Hughes and Chalobah I would chose Chalobah every time. I think between the two he's got far more potential still to be a top player.
It’s very early days, given I’ve only seen 20 minutes of him live but he seems to have that Aguero play style. The finish was certaintly very much in the Aguero mould. Little backlift on the finish but fantastic whip. Plus, the height gives Aguero vibes and the way he uses his body and wriggles past defenders. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Contrasting styles of Kucka and Etabu. Kucka would go into challenges surrounded by opponents and would wriggle away with the ball leaving at least one of them on the ground; Etebo would look so relaxed as he nicked the ball and dribbled through a succession of opponents. Love them both.
Souness writes in the Sunday Times today that Grealish winning so many free kicks shows that he holds on to the ball too long and can't see a pass.
0% chance he goes before Xmas. can see them agreeing to sell him for a silly amount but not until we have time to replace him. Would be suicidal now with no replacements. When we do sell we need to use the fee on 3 or 4 quality players rather than 1
Half will go to paying off our debts I imagine and the other half will be used to carry on the great recruitment we have been doing since the new DOF came in.
Chatting with some bald Brummies in the pub after the game yesterday they were glad Grealish was gone. He was a primadonna they said (or I think that's what they said)
He did shank a free kick, cross-field ball straight to a Villa player, but overall he was a lot better. The defense had a great game, bar that brain-fart from Masina. Restricted Villa to only 2 shots all game, which unfortunately both went in.
For me even more worrying than Emma's blinkless performance was something else. Can someone please set up a Crowdfunding campaign and quickly? "Where's Tommy's Socks?" Let's get his cheery smile back and ensure many more 'Get Ins' this season...
Problem with Cleverley is that he has never been a natural central midfielder. All his best performances have been when the other two alongside him have given him a platform to get forward and link the play. Unfortunately we've rarely been able to provide such a platform for him. It does make him something of a luxury unfortunately, but a useful player none the less, especially if Etebo and Kucka replicate yesterday's performance
The first half reminded me very much of the first half of the last match I saw from my usual seat. Minimal expection but we blew our opponents away. Villa were the new Liverpool. I'll still have minimal expectations from the visits of Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea, though.
Looking at the stats on fbref Troost didn't play a single pass under pressure. I'm surprised Villa didn't target him.
It’s also worth mentioning that we scored three times as many goals in yesterday’s game as we did in the first five home games of 2015/16. Unfortunately I missed Swansea completely (the only game in that run where we scored) and the very impressive win against West Ham that immediately followed that run, although I did catch it on a good stream.
Based on the fact that no matter how much people try and convince me, I don't rate Cleverley at all and think Chalobah is the better player, certainly in recent history with his performances last season. Kucka and Etebo both looked streaks ahead of Cleverley yesterday, for me.
What a fantastic start to the season. Hats of to Xisco, he has integrated the new signings brilliantly, and they all performed to a high standard. Got to admit, I was a bit nervous before the start, but what a performance, occasion, and atmosphere. God its good to be back
She was 32 then. When my brother told me she was over 30, I couldn't believe it. Somebody that old looked that gorgeous .
