A really really poor performance to a man

Typical performance against a Warnock side without enough days to recover. Our touch was awful all game, all over the park. I predicted a 1-1 before the match, and so it transpired. As it turned out however, Boro were abysmal with next to no quality, which makes the result harder to stomach.

Still, absolutely idiotic from Sema to fall for their gameplan of playing for free kicks out wide. That one brainless tackle has probably cost us a shot at the title.

One to move on from quickly. It's always nice to be reminded of the purpose of it all, and if we don't have to play another dire Warnock-esque side for at least a year, getting promoted this season will be a sweet, sweet reward.

Crap performance but a point here is fine in terms of our prospects for 2nd place. Not the worst way to end our winning streak either, which was inevitable anyway

    11 more points needed

Disappointing considering we were leading for a large majority, but I think considering we didn't play well, it's a respectable away point.

Point not a disaster but two poor performances in a row. Need to step up the tempo against Reading and Luton.

Very disappointing. Not good enough. Boro weren't great, but we truly gifted them that equaliser.

Whole performance had a whiff of Ivic about it.

    Big improvement needed against Reading.

    Disgusting, lazy performance.

From what I saw in the second half that was dreadful. Sloppy almost to a man and a massive lack of attacking intensity and effort.

A point isn't a complete disaster but between this and Friday's game we've seen a worrying drop off in performance levels. Now is not the time for that.

Sema is a moron for giving away that foul as well. Only way they were even going to score was from a set piece and we have idiots putting in ridiculous, needless challenges like that.

A turgid game and a very frustrating performance, with some shockingly poor turns from certain players - very much an opportunity missed, with some not-at-all impactful subs to enjoy to boot.

As I said on the shoutbox, the only possible silver lining is that there's a removal of potential pressure of keeping up such a winning streak, and we certainly looked like we were feeling pressure today.

We can only hope that we are building up the momentum to pre-international break levels in a similar manner to then. We will need quite a few players to wake the **** up for that to happen though, and our next opponent is theoretically even tougher (as most of them are).

If Cleverley is fit, it would make a lot of sense to start him on Friday night.

That was as bad a performance as we've put out this season. Seemingly every player is about 40% of what they were at before the international break, with Pedro, Sarr and Sema looking especially awful. I don't think a single one of our team deserves praise from today. It was incredibly below the standards we have set ourselves over the past 10 games.

Touches were heavy, passes were lazy, we were second to every loose ball and lost every fifty/fifty - there was no urgency. It was all round just not anywhere near good enough from a team with promotion almost within their grasp.

The only positive to take from it is that we played that poorly and still got something out of the game, in the form of a point, but if we play like this for the rest of the season, we're looking at 3-4 points maximum from the run in, which won't be enough.

    We need Deeney back.

Worrying that the players were happy to play sideways and backwards. Mentality didn’t look strong enough, would liked to have seen at least one of players getting hold of the game.

A silly free kick to give away, but the delivery and header were both excellent.

Not a brilliant performance today. Unfortunately, the international break seems to have knocked us out of our rhythm a bit. Hopefully we'll set that right next game.

A point away is certainly far from a disaster (especially at Boro) but the performances need to get back to where they were before the international break quickly.

Well the winning streak was going to end sometime. Shame it ended in such an abject manner though. Still, possibly a very important point but we certainly need to buck our ideas ahead of Reading. Win that and this game can go down as “one of those days”. Don’t want to invite unnecessary pressure though.

Meh can't win them all. Classic Warnock side, classic Warnock performance.

Masina & Sema are two brain-dead footballers and will 100% need upgrading in the summer if we go up, that's not a left side we can take into the Prem. Masina for one just barges into his man so many times so needlessly?

Draw might even be a good thing, refocus the mind for the bigger games ahead.

Xisco set us up wrong today. We kept going long with the ball so should have had Success and Gray up top to try and hold / stretch them centrally as for some reason we just ignored our wingers today. Zinckernagel and Pedro were especially poor I thought whilst Sema has a costly brain dead moment.

Swansea and Brentford are already having inconsistent performances and we aren't going to win every game and will have off days. So be it, it's not a disaster but it is dissapointing. It's a typical Warnock team who are superb at stifling opposition teams and that is what happened today. No point over reacting.

A much needed wake-up call that promotion won’t just be handed to us. Haven’t got out of 2nd gear for the last 180 mins we have played.

Need to re-discover the killer instinct as the fixtures are only getting tougher from here on in - and we won’t be able to saunter through them like we have attempted to over Easter.

We have put ourselves in a great position and everyone should be heavily commended for that - but I’d hate to see us blow it by taking our eye of the ball and thinking it’s a matter of ‘when’ and not ‘if’.

(I also can’t understand Xisco’s preference for Success over Gray - not that I rate the latter at all...but the best he could do was put in a few improved efforts and maybe score a few goals - he did that and has been rewarded with an ineffectual Success being preferred over him)

Say that again Jumbo. Far too many players in first gear today. Sema was very poor and Pedro did not look himself at times. Missed a glorious chance to make it 2-0. Discipline was poor. Far too many free kicks given away. The forward fluency was not there. Chabs plants a lovely cross in and now no one attacks it. The mindset was tentative, we did not impose ourselves. Solid at the back barring the one set piece. Boro played well but we can play a level above. We need to return to the energy, application and passing before the international break. Must beat Reading and we are still in a good position. Fingers crossed Swansea and Brentford slip up. I hope we are not feeling any nerves. You need to relax the players at this stage of the season but not to the point they turn in sub par efforts. Hughes aside there was no drive in midfield. Hardly saw Kiko or Masina get to the byeline as in the recent run before the break. Not good enough. You need to do more to win matches.

Another point nearer promotion. It means neither Brentford nor Swansea will have won more points than us over the Easter period, and two more games chalked off too.

Disappointed not to win, as I thought we played really well for large parts. Had Pedro put away that chance to make it 2-0 just before the equaliser I feel we would have. But he didn’t, so no use crying over spilt milk. It’s another point banked, one we didn’t have before the match, and the pressure still remains on those chasing us.

I’m sure there will be much negativity now on this thread, but in my humble opinion these are heady days in the life of supporting our club and here to be enjoyed, even treasured. Exciting times. A terrific run of form, and the promise of an unexpected promotion moves ever closer by the day.

Today was only a setback towards our hopes of clinching promotion with 4 or so matches to go, and everybody’s nerves staying in tact as a result! That was always unlikely considering the position we had to come from to make the top two. A few more nervous days lie ahead, but I’m very confident we will come through them.

Absolute, utter gash. Played most of the game at walking pace and lazy, sloppy passing.

Still, we probably would have snatched a vital 3 points had we made some 4**KING SUBS!!!.. Joao Pedro was absolutely atrocious from the start and should have been hooked at half-time; he didn't win a single thing against their CBs and spent the whole game chasing shadows; even Success would have done a better job than him I'm sure.

Also, Sema had been blowing out his ar5e for at least 10 minutes before he gave away the stupid free-kick which led to their goal.

Both of them should have been subbed long before Zinckernagel. Gosling is not who should have been brought on either as he appears to have lost any pace he had overnight (I think Sanchez has seemed better than him tbh).

This was similar to Sheffield Wednesday except against a slightly tougher side. We didn't even really seem to care. Supposedly Deeney has been travelling with the team "to help guard against complacency", but that's exactly how we've been in the last two games.

If this is all we have left in the tank we're not getting promoted.

I was very nervous and the players looked off the tempo today albeit Warnock set up to frustrate.
It looked like too quick a turn around.
I thought Sema should have been subbed ten minutes before.Other than the little lay to JP he was cumbersome and ponderous.
Daft foul to give away but I probably would have taken a point.
Could JP have taken a touch on his second half chance to widen the angle?

Disappointing result considering we were 1-0 up. Hopefully this gives them a huge kick up the ass. A win today would have been huge

Players who give away needless free kicks when the opposition player is running towards the touchline, waiting for contact, should be banned from the sport.

As others have said, Boro looked very poor. They were mostly incapable of creating chances so it was so brainless of us to continually give them set piece opportunities.

Hopefully a well-timed kick up the backside that we're not over the line yet.

Yep, we lacked his energy and intensity today against a Boro side who really competed well in midfield. Watching it was almost like the bright sunshine fooled the players into thinking it was 30 degrees so slow was our play.
