There's the Watford that I know and love. What an absolute shower. Foster saves us again from being humiliated. Hang your effin heads in shame. Outworked, out thought and outplayed. Unlucky Wycombe you deserved the three points.
I suspect we'll be close enough at the end to leave people clinging desperately to hope. We'll be about 12th with 5 games to go, with the vague possibility that we can close a 5 point gap on 6th place and push for the play offs. Then we won't and we will go again, again. Honestly, like others, it's utterly killing my passion for football. Unlike others, however, I'm not missing being in stadiums. The only thing worse than watching this utter **** is watching this utter **** and then still having a 20 minute drive home.
Chalobah coming on and playing in a back three as we persist with this horrendous system, away at Wycombe, just says it all. Laughable.
I knew we wouldn't win tonight. It's just what Watford do. Everyone beats Wycombe but us. But that will be the luckiest point we'll get all season. Wycombe smashed us tonight. 5-1 would not have flattered them. We were absolutely dreadful from start to finish. For once we got lucky......but can't help giving away 90th minute goals. We even threw one in our own net tonight, only for the referee to be generous to us. Can't believe we're third right now. I've not seen a good performance from us yet. All have been abject boring, games. I thought we controlled our first 5 matches without looking threatening, but the last three have been real nervy. We seem to be going backwards in terms of performances. We're not creating chances. Only 8 goals in 8 games. Only one game where we've scored more than once. With the quality we have, that's very poor. Without Foster, we'd have lost the last three games. He's been amazing. If he gets injured we'd really notice his absence by bringing in Bachmann. He wouldn't have saved all those shots as Foster did. Ivic has to change it now. That's three games on the spin where we've been dominated and opened up far too easily. Ok, we could have won it in the end, but make no mistake......we got away with it tonight. With the players we have, we should have been the dominate force. Not good enough Watford.
Still some prominent Watford accounts happy clapping on Twitter, even after that "Its a positive we got a point even when we played badly" etc. Just astonishing really. We'll end up 10th this season and they'll spend next summer bemoaning the 'bedwetters' for doubting our 2021/2022 title winning credentials ("Ryan Cassidy is like a new signing!")

Count their money, compare cars and have a laugh no doubt. The set piece taking was appalling. One of the few who can actually take them sat on the bench. And to concede from a set piece. Wycombe were supposed to do that but our deliveries are so poor. As once said the team needs a psychologist on board. One little upset from those *****s on the south coast and their mindset seems to shrink. Ivic should double the training sessions. Make them practice all ranges of passing at targets. moving targets, into space, combination work until they can do it with their eyes closed. I have seen better passing from National League sides. The weight of so many passes over hit or those that needed to be played into feet played behind. You cannot build momentum, open defences like this having to work back. And someone tell Etienne don't be a coward, don't hide. Several chances he played the easy ball again. Only once did he actually stride forward and show what he can do if he puts his mind to it. The loss of TDB seems to hurt even more as he was looking the part. Quina needs to stay at the nursery school. Someone make him a HUD so he can actually see team mates. He won't amount to much the way he is carrying on. Dwells on the ball. Does a trick. Loses the ball or falls over. Or causes the attack to lose momentum. Oh for an Abdi in this side.
Before he's sold anyway on the last day of the window and they say "well he never played for us, so getting £500k for him from Stockport is good business. Deeney will be back soon enough anyway"
Feminia had a good game too in fairness. But that is about it. Agreed. Wycombe deserved their point and probaley deserved more that. We were so lethargic and our defence got bullied by a fat old guy. Pedro and Sarr arew both good players but neither are out & out strikers, nor do they have the makings of a good strike partnership. Sema must be one of the slowest wingbacks in the league. Quina was a huge culprit for giving the ball away. Again. He was also culpable for continuously slowing down play every time he got on the ball near their area. He's trying to do too much to the point he's actually becoming a liability.
Tonight wasn't good, however i'm not giving up on the season. Its 46 games long, our record after 8 games is W4 D3 L1 with key players back very soon, particularly up front which hopefully will mean we create more chances and score more goals. Two not ideal 1-1 draws, just the 8 games played, play off place currently, and some of you think its all over. It isn't. Not yet anyway.
Obviously goes without saying but that was never in a million years a foul on Foster. He's just punched the ball into his own net. Still, look forward to a slightly camp "ooooh, that was lucky, only football, I'm off to cycle home with no lights" into the GoPro.
Exactly this. The shape doesn't work and doesn't suit the players we have. But sadly it does suit one thing - the fact we don't have a LB. What we are watching is turgid, 'percentage' football with players who are incapable of enacting it or are largely unwilling to be. The table is 'false' at this point because the only reason we are so high within it, is because of Foster. I like Ivic and I like his demeanour - but if we continue to be served up with games like we have so far, there will be a breaking point. The fact we are still up and around the top spots and took another point tonight will mean the coach/players won't feel the need to say tonight was unacceptable. But it was. The vast majority of them cruising around like they didn't care and were just happy to pick up their weekly wage. Not good enough. Remember when everyone was raving about the team spirit shown in pre-season against Spurs? Chasing every ball and pressuring non-stop....whats happened? I see some have said we have only been good once...against L*ton - I'd heavily debate even that. We were in 3rd gear against a poor team who never got out of 1st. There has been very very little evidence of a team able to get promoted this season so far.
Didn’t someone recently claim that Capoue was the best player ever to play in the Championship? I suppose there is still time...
People said this last season just FYI. You also talked people down at HT time today for expressing their concerns, and gave the reason that the game is 90 mins long and not 45 mins.
Our fan base is full of complete freaks. Weak, dribbling, freaks with their incessant, nonsensical, mindless positivity in every situation.
He has as I stated folkestone. The best we can do at present is Ngakia-TE-K/C-Femenia. With Femenia out of position. No natural left back at all. Well done Floppo, Scott and Gino. Give them a massive clap. Might be a thought to bring Wilmot into midfield. Cannot be any worse than Belowpah and Notsocleverly. Might add bite, forward momentum and hunger. Nice to see him being dropped after his efforts against Derby. Hardly ideal motivation.
I think it was a foul. It’s fine the likes of Higginbotham and Gabbidon going on about ‘pinning the goalkeeper’, but to do that without fouling the opponent has to just stand there, he can’t arch his back or, as their chap did, essentially use his arse to barge the keeper as he jumps for the ball. Foster didn’t cover himself in glory but applying the normal keeper’s benefit of the doubt it’s enough to call it a foul. Either way, what was really criminal was the lack of defenders helping Foster out. Why was no one in there before the kick was taken giving their guy a hard time?
The people crying blaming the tram, the owners, I didn't talk anyone down, I was just reminding them that there was still some more football to be played.
When we went up under Joka, we played some wonderful free-flowing football. Vydra, Deeney and Ighalo banging in the goals, while Abdi bossed midfield. What do we have now? Five centre backs in tonight’s squad, and when we bring on a midfielder he ends up playing there too. It’s puerile. It’s over-defensive. It’s tactically inflexible. While Brentford invest in Toney, we end up with a Udinese cast-off who can’t keep himself on the pitch, and Glenn Murray. A half-decent striker buries that chance in injury time tonight and we get out of jail. There were players tonight who looked like they didn’t want to be on the pitch playing for us. There were others who probably don’t deserve to be. Ivic can take his football back to Israel or where-ever else people don’t mind being bored rigid by him. Our Head of Recruitment should be fired now for his summer incompetence. Pozzo needs to come to terms with the fact that he ain’t going to be earning big sums of money again anytime soon with this total embarrassment of a situation he’s allowed to happen. A truly shameful night for our club.
As per usual the forum lines are jammed when we lose . Awful performance tonight , and Bedwetters get their chance to celebrate . This is their time to shine , and we can’t take that away from them . It’s just rewards for the countless hours of relentless negative posting they ve magnanimously sacrificed for our better good . Ivic has got a lot of work to do , because the quality of football is poor if the results have been decent .
"People talking like the game is over and not realising its 90+ mins" - that was your comment. If you weren't talking peoples concerns down, that comment looks odd.
Seems to be a competition among our players for who will have the biggest career in the media after they retire. Ben is comprehensively beating Deeney so far. And but for him we would have more losses.
Still, at least King Gino got decent fees for Suarez and Estupinan. Even better given that they've never played a game for us apparently for some reason.
This is a guy who has clung to a bizarre defence of Andre Gray for 2 years now, despite countless demonstrations of the fact that he's an utterly terrible footballer. He will be at this level too. The whole COG belief that our shyte premier league players will suddenly become glorious championship experts is a complete fantasy, as shown by the way the likes of Chalobah, Cathcart and Cleverley look just as crap down here as they did up there.
