This guy looks like he should've been cast in The Wire as one of the Eastern Europeans shipping the drugs over to West Baltimore.
A bit of a punt again by the club but better than some of the "safer" choices being mentioned like Houghton and Puel. If this guy can give the squad a kick up the butt, get them into a winning frame of mind and is willing to give the kids a chance then I think we could be in for a cracking season.
What's that you say? You want to watch a video of our new Head Coach scoring a few goals set to some rock music and some indecipherable Greek captions to get you pumped for the new season? You're welcome!
Was also captain for a long period at Partizan so hopefully knows our squad has weak leadership qualities throughout the squad and demands people start standing up to be counted.
Here he is speaking English and describing how his team won a game 4-3 with a never say die attitude. Winners mentality only from now on, if you're not boarding the promotion bus then **** off. COYH!
Sounds exactly what we need - you don’t pussy foot around at Partizan - most of our players would have been eaten alive by their fans after their spineless submissions this season
Club obviously wrapped up the deal to appease me having seen my post earlier. They don't want to push me any further. I'm one step away from taking a dump on Pozzo's car bonnet.
I remember one of my favourite moments from Joka was his Bolton wanderers celebration when we won 4-3 . The first time I saw him really let go and celebrate. Maybe that was ivic’a Bolton moment !
Dresses well as well - I’m one of these sad folks who likes it when a manager presents himself well on a matchday. I don’t like it when they wear the club training gear or whatever - you’re not part of the squad and it looks lazy in the modern era. You’re the leader, look like it. Suits, jeans, smart sweaters, a decent scarf. This guy will have the lot in his armoury I think.
Welcome Vlad! I’m sure he’ll do well. Let’s face it it’s not rocket science, run over there, kick it over there, anyone could do it.
Every head coach we've had since Joka has been weighed down by the mentality of our squad. Ivic is the sort of bloke who will tell the players "This is what your mentality is going to be now." and they will not **** him around.
Judging from this thread on Ivic and the way his teams play it seems he’s very innovative as well https://twitter.com/louorns/status/1289942268359536641?s=21
Never heard of him. Can’t say anymore because I know nothing about him. I hope he kicks seven bells of sh1t out of some of the underperformers from last year though
Asked about what he’s like with the media and a fan of his former club responded with this. https://mobile.twitter.com/FplRabbi/status/1293683557165137921
I’m personally buzzing with that news, second good piece of news of the day after finding out sarr is happy to stay if it comes to it, COYH
Who knows if this will work, but I like the sound of him. When Slav was appointed he'd just won the Thai league, but regardless of the level he knew how to win. The signs are positive, let's hope the player retention and recruitment is too.
Let’s see whether he celebrates when we put 5 past L*t*n down at the Kennel. In all seriousness, finally. The appointment sounds like it has the makings of success, so here’s hoping. Would have been happy with either Ivic or Struber, but was leaning more this way after it sounded like Struber may have lost a few staff. Welcome Vladimir.
One look at Ivic and I’m sure Giraldi will run away with his tail tucked between his legs. Or perhaps Ivic will order a hit on him. Problem solved.
@reids do you happen to have done any analysis on Maccabi Tel Aviv/Ivic's set piece routines? Wondering if we can finally expect something half decent on this front...
Massive job on his hands to reset the culture in our club over a very short period of time. This gang of gutless mercenaries have seen off every coach put in front of them so far, and considering his lack of reputation, he’s going to have to convince them very fast that he’s the one to set things right. I hope the club back him, and move on the players who aren’t willing to buy in. His reputation for improving players and trusting youth is promising, but count for nothing if he ends up being undermined by Giraldi and Gino. Happy with his appointment, and quite excited to see what he can do, as his record speaks for itself. Whichever league you’re in, losing 2 league games in 2 seasons is highly impressive, and considering the epic grind a Championship season presents, its promising he’s been able to motivate players over an extended period of time. Now, when do we announce Eustace?
Eustace is the dream assistant. I know Ivic is bringing his assistant with him, but, Ivic and Eustace in the changing room, absolutely no fannying about with those two. If Gino wants the fans back, get Eustace in as first team coach.
I bet Foster is crapping his pants looking at that GK coach. Doubt we will see Foster fecking about as much now.
Not that I would ever encourage someone to bet. But Ivic is still 11/8 on William Hill. I’ve just put £150 on - returns £356. Barring Leventhal being a liar, should be easiest £200 made for those who can afford it.
I would imagine that if Giraldi tried to interfere we might have another Pearson type incident, but this time Giraldi would be lucky to survive and physically he would probably very much regret it at the very least.
I knew it was going to be him when i realised his name is an anagram of 'Vicarage Road" Never heard of him before now. But totally delighted because I've watched a 25 second clip on youtube and have made an instant decision based on my bias of wanting him to work out.
I meant to bet on Ivic but accidentally bet on Claude Puel on William hill . Does anyone know how to reverse an online bet ?
Yeh what I’ve been saying . He’s just one guy can’t reverse toxic mess we are in . It’s not just about football
