I thought it wasn't possible to find a more pathetic rivalry than Watford and Bournemouth but here it is.
I *think* it's because of how they 'play' us. The myth: they're a small club with a reputation, under St Eddie of Howe, of playing attractive, attacking football then there's the reality...
In my idea ln my ideal world, Gino would tell him that his main role next season will be off-field inspiration, mentor to the young players and if necessary impact sub, with plenty of time for media work. As second choice, I'd want him transferred to Brum to lead them back to the Prem.
No disagreement here. If they disappear for a few years and we stay apart the 'rivalry' will be sharp forgotten. It's like the 'derby' we apparently have with Middlesbrough. One of the few things that Newcastle and Sunderland fans can agree on is that Middlesbrough don't matter, but any time our friends from Teeside come to visit it's the Tyne Tees 'derby'. Oh and Leeds of course, it seems like Leeds fans are convinced they've a rivalry with everyone from Manchester United to Morecambe.
We could get a statue of Deeney but I think buying that much gut shaped bronze would bankrupt the club
Great! Could we have a motorised statue of Wooter in head-down pose that goes round and round in circles?
Whatever happens in this game we will be unhappy with how we played and probably rightly so I could see back to back victories I could see a lack luster 0-0 I could see us giving it away in the 93rd min I could see us loosing by 7 I fear Big Nige will go for the point (which may be a sensible option) rather than attack for all 3 , guess part of his strategy will depend on what happens with muff and Villa tonight if i was pushed I would say somewhere between 3-0 and 1-7 come on the orns
I live sorta in your neck of the woods and work with a boro fan from Billingham. He don't like you guys much Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
spurs have played like us (yep literally that bad), turgid for 80 mins and have now woken up and having a go
Could possibly the thinking behind moving to a new ground with a lot of excess floor space outside the ground.
Probably only because we won and they lost ... Bit like Garth Crooks put Dawson and Welbeck in his team of the week as they scored.
I reckon we might be three points better off if we could win this game. Not putting money on it though.
Aye, tends to be the way of it for them. I get why the mackems hate us, but Boro? Meh. On Tyne Wear derby week I'm a bag of nerves, during the game the highs are higher and the lows (of which there've been a few recently) are the lowest. When we play Middlesbrough I experience it the same way as I do a game against Bournemouth. Maybe they don't like us because we don't care about them?
It's so important we win this match. I cannot see us winning another game after this one, although of course anything can happen in football. We could be just sitting ducks for the remainder of the season, so this is why we need to get ourselves those three priceless points. I can see Villa winning a couple of games, but that is maximum. Bournemouth have the potential to do this also. We just need one win to basically reach the ceiling of what I expect Villa and Bournemouth can achieve, but after Newcastle, our own ceiling is pretty much reached.
It's a bit like asking who you'd like in your team tomorrow out of Ismaila Sarr or Malcolm MacDonald.
Steve Bruce:- “We’ll know a little bit more this afternoon, but I hope Almiron, Saint-Maximin and the skipper (Lascelles) will be OK,” said head coach Bruce. “Unfortunately, the other night we had too many of our big players unavailable.” Newcastle are 13th in the Premier League and 15 points above the relegation zone with four games left to play. The club is six points off 10th-placed Burnley. Bruce said: “We have to respond – let’s hope we can do that.” Looks like they'll be at full strength tomorrow.
I'd take a point if it; A. Put us above West Ham. B. Put us 4 points or more (2 results) above muff and villa. C. We can preserve our goal difference in the Man City game.
