Second red card of the season for him. Still remains a liability at times and is indebted to his team for managing to hold on to a vital 3 points on two occasions this season.
Of course he still is liable to costly brainfarts, but in fairness to him for the Wolves red he was having to both mark Jimenez and cover for Dawson who had lost Jota (see my pics in the matchday thread). He also probably took a calculated risk in tugging Jota's shirt that it would just be a yellow as Cathcart appeared to also be covering, the red was harsh. He's still our best defender in general and will be a big miss for the very important Muff game.
His positional play is still that of a player that started his career as a striker. I think he's definitely improved a lot over the last year though
Years ago Eustace got an extra game ban for taking too long to leave the pitch (the referee was Rob Styles though) I did think that Kabs should have left quicker than he did.
I will be surprised if this is over-turned. It looked in real time at the game that Kabs denied a clear goal scoring opportunity, and I was very surprised when the ref initially gave a yellow.
Appeal has been unsuccessful. Two match ban upheld, but not increased. He misses Tranmere and Bournemouth.
Kabasele ban stands for 2 games then - least one is for the cup game. They were never going to go against VAR.
Surely the replay at Tranmere will now count as his 2nd game ban? Therefore he will be available for the Muff game, am I right?
According to nascot there is, as he says it is after the Muff game. Though I have asked him where he got his information and he has not got back yet, so maybe he does not know after all
Whats wrong with this coming week? Or have Tranmere got a league 1 match? EDIT: Just looked on Tranmere's official site and they seem to have a game against Leicester City U 21's on Tuesday 7th January 2020 at Prenton Park 7.45 KO, so looks like we are out of luck for a quick replay after all.
I just imagine there's not enough time to sort it all out. They usually play them midweek after the following Saturday.
Have you ever followed the FA Cup before? Of course replays don’t happen immediately - time is needed to sort out ticketing, policing etc etc.
Very good news I'd say http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-defender-agreed-contract-extension-will-formalise-news-soon/
Yep, well deserved. Comfortably the best defender at the club, and I feel like he could really hit the big time as he ages and improves his consistency even more. Definitely is the best defender we've had in the prem era. Yes Prodl and cathcart have been good. But they are cumbersome defenders of a bygone time. Kabasele is a modern day, nimble thoroughbred.
Honestly, I don't know how thickos are suggesting a replay 3 days after the original fixture I know it sounds stupid but it's so annoying to read. Use your brain and common sense!
I hope the club have learnt from Holebas, Prodl and Britos. If Kabasele gets a 5 year deal he'll be 34 by the time it's finished. How good is he going to be when his 'pace' goes??
https://tbrfootball.com/report-west-ham-and-newcastle-among-clubs-interested-in-christian-kabasele/ Agent doing agent things I guess. Obviously wants a raise
Would have to be a completely unrealistic offer for us to sell him this January, in the summer I guess everyone has their price!
