Maybe Andrew Andronikou was there on behalf of the Football league to make sure that the club avoided doing a Pompey.

I have a sneaky feeling we may be seeing Walcott in a Watford shirt very, very soon.

Zola will 100% be manager. Duxbury is hardly going to sack Dyche in a meeting where everyone at the club is present.

I am expecting great things in the coming years.

Good, honest football folk. Some sensible investment. An emphasis on youth. Something very unique and wonderous. I dont expect instant results and will give them time though

    From the Udinese site,

The Pozzo family are delighted to announce that Watford Football Club's takeover has been successfully completed: the trade, defined during last hours, prove the great passion for Football of the Pozzo Family, that wants, with this new adventure, to widen their horizons. The technical project will be in the care of Gianluca Nani, a manager with an international experience already established, and Scott Duxbury. The target is to repeat in England, thanks to the experience gained during last years, the successes of Udinese Calcio, which remains the model from which to be inspired and the heart of every project.

Is this bit about Nani or is it saying we're getting a new manager??

Nani has never been a football manager, therefore we're either getting a new manager, it's a comment that's a bit lost in translation, or it's a very weird way to describe Dyche.

Is that the role where they administer the three club's player pool as it were. Player development etc.

I think it may be a mistranslation. Wasn't he a director at West Ham?

Yes I think it's just a description of Nani

The way they structure clubs in Italy is different, as well as how they describe the rolls. So when they say manager, they mean director of football. What we call a manager, they call a trainer.

I'm either being really thick or I think they're just describing Nani as a manager, as in director, that has worked around the world.

Scott Duxbury will be new #watfordfc CEO & Gianluca Nani will also have a role at Vicarage Road. No further news likely this week!

How do you know Fudgey? I'm clutching at straws but if he really did do that then he'd be lying to the entire staff wouldn't he, because surely they'd all go?

Got a bad feeling if Wilson (very highly rated) leaves for Nani (poor job at WH) and Duxbury (poor job at WH) come in, and Dyche leaves too, or at least would need serious convincing.

I don't think that intially there will be much change in the staffing and the Pozzos will bring in there own people gradually. I don't see Ross Wilson going in the near future unless he wants to.

But Nani will be Director of Football, which is Wilson's current position. So unless he's willing to accept being demoted, he'll probably leave

As a striker maybe? He's probably still better than Garner.

Gianluca Nani may have not done the greatest job at West Ham, but he is renowned for the phenomenal job he did at Brescia, not everyone can get it right all the time. If Ross Wilson was to leave next season, without having been previously been described as "highly rated" would you think much of him, he was the man that brought in Yeates, ****inson, Garner, Iwelumo. Working under the Pozzo's Nani could do a fantastic job. Whilst I rate Dyche, and can to no extent describe the incredible job he did last season, and hope he stays, we also act as if he's the next Brian Clough. He's a young manager who had a very successful first season, I think tactically, especially going forward, there is a large room for improvement. Zola is a massive possibility, until such of an update, and I can't understand the negativity towards him, he finished 9th with a ****ing awful West Ham side, playing beautiful football, and at one point was being very highly rated and tipped for Chelsea. After which time they finished 17th, where he was effectively a puppet for Sullivan and Gold and had very little say in footballing matters, he kept them up, the season after they went down. Dyche would be great, Zola would be great, the Pozzo's, are ****ing marvellous.

Met Wilson at 2 of the At Your Place events - He'll be a massive loss, he knows the English game very well and especially young talent and emerging talent from lower leagues.

Fair points, I don't mind Nani as much because of the jobs he did previous to WH and Savio tarred his whole time there. All I want is what we are now but with a touch of the Udinese link, some bigger signings and financial backing for the stand etc, that's all we need IMO.

Is there a plan in place for the stand, or is that something that will come with promotion? I assume the SW Corner will get sorted whatever happens.

I think Nani may do a good job here with the brilliant Udinese scouting system behind him. Unlike at West Ham the owners won't be throwing around silly money to spend on contracts on potentially dud players. The Pozzo's obviously know Nani's background and will have chosen him for his credibility rather than because they are mates. We'll have to wait and see whether it will be a shrewd move or not.

Thank god this happened, I can't go into too much detail right now (or here), but a certain individual bled this club absolutely dry, so much so, the word 'administration' was being thrown about pretty strongly, we're lucky to still have a football club.
