If you use Tapatalk I believe you can get notifications when you are quoted. It happened to me the other day!

Might it be worth ditching the minimum number of posts needed to make/recieve a PM in the next couple of weeks? Seems a lot of newbies are turning up with tickets to sell or after them to buy and can't talk to one another.

I can't think of any sensible or logical reason for the delay.

It's to do with spammers I think. If the bots get through to sign up and could send PMs too they could flood people's inboxes potentially. Not sure what the risk is for a couple of weeks though.

A bot couldn't sign up could it? I can't remember the sign-up process but usually there is a simple question or something that you would have to be human to answer..then there is the email verification. A bot couldn't do that.

If it's happened in the past a bot spammed everyone's mailbox then fair enough but if it's a precautionary measure I don't know.

I'm absolutely 100% against this but ultimately it's SM#16 that makes a judgement call.

It's not so long ago that we had a spam attack through PMs and also the delay is there to stop personal abuse from troll accounts. PMs are still private, even Mods & admins can't access them, although there is a tool we can install if the system is repeatedly abused, we don't really want to do that.

To be fair I'm not sure swapping tickets with people you don't know or are not established on here is a great idea anyway?

I think if it comes down to integrity of the forum software then fair enough. As to whether people want to risk sending money off into the ether on the back of a single post from a new user on here I guess that's their choice.

Memo to self: Since you've liked by mistake hundreds of times when you meant to reply with quote, isn't it time you learned to get it right without the need for a prompt?

Not sure if this is quite the right thread to post this, but I didn't really want to start a new thread, but is there a way of jumping to new/unread posts in a thread? Often I forget where I've got to in a discussion (especially if a thread has been bumped for the first time in a while), and if I can just carry on where I left off from the previous visit, it would save a fair few minutes catching up on posts.

There's a little blue icon just beside the threads that will take you there.

If you mean the little blue and white arrow in the right hand column, that's for last post only, I was wondering if it was possible like on some other forums to go straight to unread posts.

As well as clicking the blue arrow on the left, if you have accidentally clicked the title and gone to the beginning you can jump to where you were by clicking the link "View First Unread" leftmost on the right of the grey bar above the first post on the page.

I'll revamp the smilies at the start of next season. There's a few than need to go and a few that need adding. I'll set-up a thread for suggestions.

Is there any way to stop already read posts from becoming unread when they get merged with other threads?

In the transfers section, would it be possible to add the prefix 'Twitter Rumour', so we can distinguish actual rumours from the Twitter rubbish?

Never mind. Is working again. Must have been a 'blip' (I believe that is the technical term).

I think something has changed with the PM system recently, not that I use it a lot but if someone writes to me, I have to wait 10 minutes or so before I can reply or create a new message. After I sent a message I can't see it until 10 minutes afterwards either.

    Hi Guys,

Some people on here seem to get their knickers in a twist when some one starts a new thread.

E.G. Just a short while ago someone started a new thread to say we have finally confirmed our new manager, and some one immediately asked why he started a new thread? Well to me that is simple, it's Big News!!!

Although there was already a thread on Florrie, the fact that something significant had happened warrants a separate thread IMO, otherwise it might just have gone unnoticed by many people on here, if it had just been buried in the long old established thread.

Am I making sense, I hope you agree that new threads, even on a similar subject are appropriate at times, and that you encourage that practice from now on, rather than frown upon it.

Having said that I do appreciate that the amalgamating of threads makes sense sometimes, but please accept that that is not the case all the time!!!

Is there a "HELP" tab on this forum, if not, one would be useful IMO!

I see that people bring up threads or posts from waaaaaay back on here; how do you do that? As I have been looking for an old post of mine, but I can only go back 20 pages on my posts; please can someone explain how I can go back further?

    Thanks!

What do you need help with? If it's wallpapering the secret is don't over do the paste and use a sharp blade to trim the edges.

As for your old post you are looking for - where did you see it last?

I think he needs the anchovies, it's where they put all the dates and olives. For wallpaper he should go here

Any chance the sub-forum "The Hornet's Nest" could be changed to "The Hornets' Nest"? The bad grammar is really grating on me!
