Yep, keep on selling please. We have too many players on silly salaries. Let a few more go. We seem to do better with less strangely.
skysports.com have just reported that Mifsud has handed in a transfer request, with Bristol City, Norwich and Palace interested. I've no idea if we could afford him (although he'd go for cheaper than we're selling Hendo for considering he only has one year left on his contract and I don't think Coventry are in too great a financial condition), but he'd be a great buy imo. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11688_3852588,00.html
would be a brilliaint sigining can do it against big teams aswell scored goals against blackburn and manure
Hendo gone - 2 million, could rise http://www.sufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10418~1349070,00.html
Great business, at least we might score the occasionnal penalty now! Thanks for all you've done Hendo, good luck at the Blades
Agreed. Always gave 100% whilst I'm worried we don't have a stand in, the move is a good one for him and also helps us out of our wages bill.
If misfud signs then im selling my season ticket Good bit of business, however if we dont sign a reasonable replacmeant then i will set the board room on fire.
Its all well and good selling these players (£2m for Hendo is great) but I can't help feel these players will be replaced with FOC Dustbins. ... and Simpson gets to line his pockets on departure
this will only become a good sale when we sign a decent replacement im a massive fan of priskin and think hoskins should be given a shot but we have no proven strikers which is very bad
£2 million's a good amount but as every one has said it leaves us a bit short upfront. i'm guessing it could raise up to 2.5, with 250k depending on appearances and the other 250k depending on promotion
I'm very sad to see Darius go, but I have to admit that he left us with a good deal and I wish him all the best. I do believe, however, that we will miss him more than we might expect. So that's that. If Shittu leaves as well we will have sold almost all of our top 5 goalscorers from the last _three_ seasons. Spring, Young, Carlisle, King, Ellington, (Johnson), Hendo and probably Shittu. Only Francis and Smithy on that list are still here.
Good business, however if we're going to replace him with **** like Jimmy Floyd then i shall not be pleased, or nobody like boothroyd suggested Hoskins, Priskin & Robinson ****ing lethal :dismay:
we don't have a player who i can see getting into double figures unless priskin comes good, and this is a problem unless our midfield starts chipping in with some goals
Priskin did a very good impression of a flower pot at Borehamwood tonight. No movement at all. Embarrassing compared with Liam Henderson and Ashikodi.
Priskin was made to look ordinary tonight by two centre backs, who quite frankly, looked like they should be in a pub team. It was worrying, he couldnt open their defence up, apart from one header in the second half.
A very good deal in terms of money, if we get a decent replacement then it'll be a FANTASTIC deal all round, of course nobody will give the club any credit or anything.
That's a big IF!! Don't get your hopes up. It's a poor deal from what I can make of it, purely because Aidy won't see a penny! In terms of the ability of the player for the money we got, it's daylight robbery!
Good luck hendo, you have served us well and always put in 110% effort with your heart on your sleeve and I will be sure to give you a good ol' clap when you come down to the vic.
Going on how much I trust you Fitz, I'm selling my house, taking advantage of the favourable exchange rate and moving out there. Once I'm settled, I shall revisit this photo and let you know if I laugh. If not, I will be really angry that I went through all that for nothing.
Good luck to Hendo but we needed the money whether its for players or paying off a loan but at least it means we will have 2 million and get rid of his £575,000 a year wages.
I note that Hendo gave an interview to the Sheff Utd site that says Sheff Utd tried to buy him last season but WFC would not sell.
This is a good deal for a number of reasons: 1: It is a clear sign we are changing our style of play - surely even we are not stupid to play hoofball without our target man? 2: We accepted a bid of around £750,000 from Preston last year and eventually we pulled out. A year later we get more than double. 3: Hendo signed a new contract at the start of last season - bound to have been on high wages with King, Ellington, Shittu and Mahon (all likely to be gone by the summer). 4: Signed for under £500,000 and re-paid that by helping to get us in the Premiership So thanks Hendo, but I think now was the time to move on. I really wanted him to be a new Helguson (hard to play against, strong etc), and on occasions it seemed he was going to be. But reality is different. Whilst we do look light upfront (without any real experience) i don't think we could justify keeping him for the price offered.
