I've found almost every "crap" moment in your life, at least job and relationship wise, you can look back at in later years and genuinely think "thank god that happened otherwise my life wouldn't be as good as it is today". You have to experience those really crap moments to get to, and then truly appreciate the good moments. Ask yourself how happy you would have been with that person 10, 20, 30 years from now if she had it in her to behave like that ? This is your escape to a better life. It won't seem that way immediately, but it will one day.

It firmly feels like that now. It’s not right for me to air dirty laundry on this forum, but some of her behaviour and choices since this all happened has totally opened my eyes to that.

I’m starting to feel genuinely optimistic about the future and I’m excited to start again.

    Well said .

It is often those who feel they aren’t able to ask for help because they’re busy looking out for others; or don’t have the language to ask because they’ve spent their whole lives looking out for others , they are sometimes are actually the ones who snap.

    Hi All

There is a post on the 'Enjoy the Game' FB page from the 'Watford Community' FB page about a fellow Golden Boy who has been missing for far too long.

Please have a butcher's in case you have a bit of info that might help find him.

    Cheers

Thought you all might like a 'lovely news' story in amongst the stuff we talk about on this thread.

A mate of mine, 'pub' mate rather than ''front parlour' mate, but a bezzie mate all the same, has recently appeared back on the scene and in the Hood (#down with da yoof).

We're of a similar age, and our kids went to the same local school etc. etc.

He's endured more health issues over the last couple of years than I've faced in my entire life. Very recently, it looked like he was a goner. But he's still here, and was out tonight for a couple of 'cheeky halves'...

    We've got but one life.

    Live it

    Embrace it

Caught up with my best mate at the Vic yesterday. He's the one that rang me twice when he was trying to end his life a few years ago.

That late win was for him and for him still being with us.

On a personal level, the house sale should be completing in the next couple of weeks if not sooner. Big step in the right direction.

Things are also looking up in other areas too.

It’s very important to talk if there are things on your mind and we truly have a great community here for that kind of thing. Full credit to the moderation team for instilling that.

The house sale completed today. It's a huge relief. It's a funny thing, happiness, relief and sadness all in one go - was rather overwhelmed this morning, but it's sunk in now - that chapter is well and truly over.

    Onwards.

My presence was rumbled on the Leicester pre match thread by @Keighley. Thought I would come and have a snoop without hijacking a football thread.

Thank you so much for all the kind messages, it was genuinely heartwarming. I know I was posting on here for a long time but it really took me by surprise how many people had something kind or encouraging to say. Thank you.

I’m getting on just fine, feeling better than I did in the summer anyway.

Hope you’re all well and enjoying the upturn in form. Have a safe trip to Leicester if you’re coming up on Saturday, feel free to drop me a direct message if you’ve got any questions about getting around town, parking etc.

    Cheers everyone! :)

My life has gone downhill pretty rapidly recently. My mum has had an affair and has left me, my little brother and my step dad. A 15 year marriage gone just like that. She's even blocked me on Facebook. Was close with my Mum for my whole 28 years on this earth so I've really struggled with it as it was so unexpected. It's tore my family apart and presumably the guys too as he was also married.

Anyway going to Leicester on Saturday, so looking forward to getting away for the day and having a catch up with a few friends as I've only been to one game this season (Leeds).

So sorry to hear Crezzy. Must be a really **** time for you and your family right now. Hang on in there. It will get better. I’m sure your mum will unblock you once dust settles, probably just struggling with the stress of the fallout she’s caused.

That's awful news Crezzy and I am very sorry to hear you and your family find yourselves in this situation. Sometimes things such as this creep up on us very unexpectedly and all you can do is take it one day at a time, support who is around you and I am sure they will lend you support when things get very heavy. Going to the Leicester match I agree is a good idea as the change of environment might be a nice atmosphere (score pending). Remember everyone here as an inbox if you want to chat.

Stay strong and reach out when you need it dude.

    Hi Crezzy

Awful to read, and almost impossible to imagine what you must be going through. As you endure your emotional pain, try and find inner strength to support your little brother; that in itself will give you more strength, because he needs you at this moment in time more than anyone else. Be there for him and the two of you will go on to be the best brothers in the world.

And how good will that feel in years to come?

My dear old mum had a fall at home on Wednesday and is back in Hillingdon Hospital.

Every time she goes back in I feel that sense of dread over and over.

Ten minutes to go, Happy Xmas everyone. Hope you all got what you asked Santa Clause for ;) Have a wonderful New Year as well. Great community of people here, members of all types with their own views and valid expectations.

From a formal angle, can I personally say the end of the year has very pleasant in regards to thread meltdowns, so long may that continue.
