http://www.watfordfc.com/page/NewsDetail/0,,10400~1998832,00.html LEWIS Young has today (Friday) joined Hereford United on loan for one month. The 20-year-old joins the League Two side to gain some competitive action in The Football League. The Bulls are currently 20th in the league and he joins them in time for their clash with Bradford City. Young played and scored in the win for Watford's reserve team over Ipswich Town during the week.
Good for him to get some first team games. Hopefully he can impress out there and from what I saw of him recently he looks to be filling out a bit more and becoming more of a natural winger. Hopefully he's a late developer.
Played full 90 minutes and according to HUFC official website played very well putting in a few decent crosses.
The Hereford fans were impressed by him as well. One quote about his performance: "Had a good game. Played some cracking passes and looked really quick and nifty.Great piece of skill and link up with Manset in first half down the right wing and played an inch perfect cross in that would have been an easy tap-in had McCallum anticipated it. Exciting signing and looking forward to what he can do in next few games" Hopefully playing league football will give Lewis some more motivation as well. He's been playing for the reserves regularly for well over a season now and he needs to play at a good level so that the staff here at Watford can get a better read on how he can perfrom when up against better opposition and more importantly, up against men. This loan spell could be massive for his future in football.
Someone on the hereford forum said that he is to good for that level? Ive never seen him play but some people seem to think he is not good enough, yet he has performed extremely well for hereford..... where was ashley at this stage, he come on quite late didnt he?
Sounds spookily reminiscent of their views on Ainsworth. :forehead: They drink too much cider in those parts to form a correct opinion on players....... :naughty:
