Two silvers .One for Wendy Houvenaghel and the mens sprint Crampton, Kenny and Staff. (France took the gold) and lovely Queen Victoria took a bronze .:-*

Some kids being blooded for 2012 such as young Anna Blyth yesterday.

Re davidwfc comment real cyclists are only roadracers utter tosh. These athletes have to put in an immense training schedule and track unlike road racing has not been tarnished by the huge levels of doping that were present right up to 2007.

Im sure they work hard but the fact is that if the guys who do the road racing also did track cycling they would walk it on the track. Look at wiggins he does road racing and does not win a things, but turns up to the olympics and wins 2 goal medals. The only reason Britain does so well is because we know we cant do well on the road so focus on the track cycling.

Yes he did. At 23 he has allready achieved more then sir chris hoy. chris hoy does not deserve his kighthood what he does is like a kid who players football who stays in the same age group for years. He is of course be better then everyone else. Track cycling is like the boxing in the olympics its manily just for the juniors to try and prove themselfs to move to a bigger stage.

They are two seperate disciplines in effect. Road racing is different from racing round a velodrome esp.in terms of the weather.

Same applies to sevens against fifteens rugby or ODI cricket versus Test cricket. However both of those disciplines '7's and ODI cricket are valid in themselves.

Hoy deserves his awards. The events were there. He took the top prize. He's a great ambassador for his sport. Hugh Porter a track and road cyclist makes no disinctions and given his sucess on the international arena I'd rather place my hat in his corner with regards to both disciplines.

All this backbiting is puerile and mean.
