Another set of fantastic results. Cap it off before the international break with another win and we sit in pole position.
In the perfect position now for our tough run of 3 games. I imagine Boro will be the toughest of the three
The spirit Joka has instilled in this team in order to constantly grind out results like these against tough little northern teams is incredible. Top of the league!!!
Told you lot not to panic. Another day, another Joka tactical and substitution master-stroke and another win. Get in!
So.... Today was our 22nd win of the season in the league. That's the same number we won during Aidy's promotion season. Only one club (Bristol City) in the whole top 4 divisions have won more than us. In his last 6 matches, Troy's scored 7 and assisted 4 goals. Captain Fantastic. He's now scored 4 goals against Wigan this season, against the manager of course who signed him for us. He's now just one short of hitting 20 for the 3rd successive season. Unheard of in recent WFC history! Troy's now scored in 6 straight games for the 2nd time for us. The lead in the Championship's now changed hands 20 times this season. It'll most likely change again twice this Saturday too, with the early kick off preceeding our match. Despite my (and the team's!) mid season wobble, I've been convinced ever since our comeback at Leeds that we're going up automatically. Tonight was another step in that direction. When you consider that, when Norwich beat us at the Vic we were 5th and almost 10 points off top place, to go top just SIX matches later is absolutely extraordinary. 16 points out of 18 is amazing, plus a few wobbles from our rivals of course. We remain the form side, and we're no longer playing catch up. It may be 8 matches too early, but to be top, and knowing 2nd plays 3rd on Saturday, is a great feeling!
Huddersfield down a player in the 95th minute for excessive celebrating, Norwich lose, Bournemouth draw, could've done with a boro draw but lets take it, top of the league!
What a throwaway. Go 2-1 up on 90+4, scorer sent off for 'excessive celebration' second yellow on 90+5 and concede an equaliser on 90+8 :dismay:
I've run out of superlatives for Deeney. The perfect player and ambassador for this club both on and off the pitch. Already one of the greats.
Well the lucky toilet strikes again. I can't actually believe it. 2 goals in 3 games sitting on there, and the Wolves game where we held on! Amazing.
Wowza. Jokanovic has completely and utterly changed this side. He deserves huge credit. Hoban sounded as if he was immense today. Glad to hear it. Huge credit to the Watford fans who made the trip too!
We're finding ways to win the types of games we've struggled with in the recent past, and we've got to be very positive about our chances from here. That was tough. Make no mistake about that. It had all the ingredients for a nasty set-back, but we've powered through it. Don't look down now. Keep those eyes looking up, because that's where we're going!
Obviously all that mattered tonight was winning for us and our promotion, but those fans still a bit bitter at the manner of his leaving us and poaching some staff and players like Cowie will also be cheered that tonight's win moves Mackay a bit closer to relegation to League ONe.
