Why was my thread closed

I'm offended you closed my thread, there was no need at all:dismay: No one was in a heated argument! Just talking about the word ****, if you lot don't like it have it Starred out! Admin sort it out! too many "close button" happy mods around here! If the Odd Modkisser gets annoyed a thread gets closed whats happening?? It used to be alrite, now it is starting to turn like the official ones!:dismay: :dismay:

Very annoying that one or two people can be offended by a word or two and then a whole thread gets closed down!

The fact that it was closed down means that it was obviously important, creates a reaction and stirs some passionate views and opinions...

Maybe you should start the thread again... using ****** out words...

 

or a code... for example....

If a mod or myself decide to close a thread then there's usually a very good reason. Considering we've been busy since mid November when the officials closed and we've only closed a handful of threads since then I'd say we're quite flexible. We've never once closed a thread without careful consideration. The thread you were talking about was going downhill fast and a complete waste of space.

We get a far higher number of threads/posts reported than are actually moderated and contrary to popular opinion no one person or group has any favouritism, I love you all:]]. Threads are generally only closed if they can cause offence generally break the rules or like in this case were very close to crossing the line. This thread didn't add much to this place and courted a couple of complaints.

It's nothing personal honest and I am sorry you disagree with the decision. I always try my best to explain any moderation I do unless it's a quick manual word change , something you wouldn't get elsewhere. The word **** is a derogatory term which does cause offence to some and because it was so prevalent in a thread spiralling downwards I took the decision to close it after a couple the complaints.

 

Nobody is kissing any moderator but most including myself agree that what admin said about the thread

is true.

The thread was of interest to about 3 people so may have well been on msn.

 

not to play devils advocate but there are loads of still open threads that are of interest to less than 3 individuals . That cannot be a reason for ever closing a thread.

i would like to see the stella scandal thread and the nabours thread closed too, beings as they do not have any meaning

and they arnt concerening many people, as some people have said maybe they could use msn for that

the rules have got to be the same for everyone and every thread

 

agreed, some threads get the names changed so certain people can talk carp and they remain open.

So perhaps when someone decides they want to talk carp to another member instead of editing the title of the post they take it off to MSN?

Complain only when need, like if someone threatens someone or something that ACTUALLY affects them. I laugh at the people who reported my picture thing, you get worked up about a picture. Ohhhhhh, have you not got anything else to worry about?

As for the waste of space comment, Ooooh what about the 501 lottery threads we have? Someones won the lottery, laddee fookin dar.....
