Something you may have missed C+P from Sky

Watford have seemingly run out of time to sign Luis Alberto Guadalupe, with Universitario confirming that visa problems have scuppered his move to the Premiership.

The Peruvian defender had been expected to travel to England to tie up a loan deal at Vicarage Road after The Hornets came to an agreement with their South American counterparts.

However, Universitario manager Jaime Zegarra has now revealed that it will take five days to organise the player's visa, taking any potential deal past the transfer deadline of Wednesday night.

"We gave Guadalupe the chance to play on loan at Watford for four months but everything that he has to resolve at the embassy, and other offices, to let him have his visa is something we can't resolve," said Zegarra.

"The things he has to resolve take more than five days and in England the transfer window closes on Wednesday.

"So I must say that Guadalupe will stay at Universitario until December 2007."

Reports in Peru also claim that work permit issues are another stumbling block as Guadalupe has not played in 75 per cent of the country's recent international fixtures.
