Just popped my head in for a moment and saw this... Did anyone submit the site to somewhere new today? There goes the bandwidth
One good thing about this was that I noticed not a single one of the bots could access any of the hidden areas!!!
Hence why I posted on the hornets nest asking why there were so many people, figured out what it is yet?
Definately bots, 99% sure not a threat, initial searches throw up Yahoo bots as the likely culprit. Why so many I have no idea. I'll update when I do. I've already implemented fairly tight security on sensitive areas of the forum, like admin control panels and database locations etc etc, so even a malicious attack shouldn't hurt us too much. This one hasn't slowed things down at all, so no harm. Maybe we'll be no.1 on all search engines for a few weeks ;D
I don't know anything about computers, as you've probably arleady guessed, I was just wondering how come they were all in different forums?
Whatever it was has caused more normal traffic. Currently we have 2 unique IP addresses viewing and one is currently registering. Maybe it should happen more often?
