Trident, Olympic costs going up....say, clearing bad news before a new leader comes in?

 

Not at all but to make a schoolboy error in not calculating VAT on building costs is scandalous.

 

Didn't the treasury intimate they wouldn't charge it, but then decided to? Tis all on paper and in theory anyway: one arm of government paying another.

 

Goverment made a mistake thinking it would be VAT exempt, then back tracked after they realised they made a boo boo.
