woken at 5am by my son, as he was so excited by the day ahead there was no chance of going back to sleep. we got up and he proceeded to ride his bike around the front room whilst i tried to kip on the sofa. took the lad into town to buy brekkie for the troops and a few balloons for the afternoon. got back home, the troops had arrived, ate brekkie and off we all went. luckily traffic wasnt too bad - couple of minor delays but nothing too significant. got there about 12:45 found a decent spot and waited for the others to arrive. by about 1pm the other 13 odd had arrived and everyone was in a playful mood. a bite to eat was had and more fun and games ensued. then about 2.30 it was time to get ready for the big event. everyone gathered together a hush decended then the thomas the tank engine cake appeared and everyone sang happy birthday as my lad blew out the 3 candles on his birthday cake. he certainly had a great time, think the other kids did. we may not have made it to scunthorpe but his face more than made up for it. great party, 3 points - not a bad weekend
