Given tonight's result, is he finally going to be on his bike?

    Can he sack himself?

No chance of Sanchez or Ozil staying...

    Highly predictable!

Martin Keown just hit the nail on the head, "this is the result of 20 years work".

He's gone at the end of the season.

He could walk. He won't be short of a few bob. His contract's up at the end of the season anyway. But it might be a bit irresponsible to just go now. There's no point in sacking him immediately either. He's best placed to deliver a top four place for them (yet again) which is all they've got left now for this season (plus maybe the FA Cup AGAIN).

I feel for the bloke. He did more than anyone else to modernise the game in this country. Far more than Ferguson who was a brilliant motivator and spotter of talent but he didn't revolutionize the game here in the way that Wenger did.

What he should do now is come out and say he's not going to stand for re-election in the summer. He keeps hanging on in the vain hope that he'll go out in some sort of blaze of glory. It ain't gonna happen. Instead, he's in danger of losing all the goodwill at the club that he earned during the first half of his tenure. There's no shame in realising when time's up and it's better to hand over to a new and younger man.

Looks likely and it's about time, should have gone ten years ago. He has been stealing a living off Arsenal for years now, what is it he is paid, about 8 million a season. All that money and effort spent chasing the fourth place trophy, settling for the belief that fourth is good enough so why bother trying and win the league. Sutton at the weekend, wonder what sort of team he will put out and how interested they will be, could get ugly if they don't win at a canter.

Sanchez is a shining light of brilliance and team work ethic, and deserves to be playing at a club where he will win the medals he deserves.

Ozil goes missing in practically every big game where hes needed. The great players raise their game when the chips are down and when their team needs them. Michael Owen, by is own admission a limited footballer , had the knack of doing something special in the big games. These players are the great players. ( Not Michael Owen though!)

Arsenal are a bigger club than Chelsea but are in their limelight because Abramovic seems to appoint managers who can deliver. Even Di Matteo who is a very average manager , won them the CL.

I live 5 mins from The Emirates and there is very little goodwill left for Wenger on the Seven Sisters Road.

He has done all can with Arsenal and this has been the case for a few years now. He never replaced the player he had with the invincible team and always seems to not invest heavily in the club like all the other surrounding teams do. Yeah they got Sanchez, ozil and mustafi who wernt cheap but most teams buy like this year in year out. Not to mention his stubbornness to not buy a world class striker or 2 which they been crying out for ever since the departure of Henry and Bergkamp

The point about Ozil is a good one. He does seem to vanish every time there is a big game.

I feel sorry for Wenger. If it weren't for Ferguson he would have probably won a lot more trophies with Arsenal. Now Ferguson has beaten him again in that he left at the top at a time when he wanted to. Wenger has now tainted his achievements at the club by staying on too long. I suspect this year was his last chance to win the league/CL. The best players at the club are probably at their peak and there does not seem to be a lot of talent coming through to replace them.

I shall always admire him for trying to stop the ridiculous rise in transfer fees by not buying at the top end of the market but ultimately it has contributed to his downfall.

With all of the other big teams misfiring, he should have won the league last season, they even did the double over Leicester last year.

If he does go, they'll most likely go through a transition period - hope they enjoy scrapping it out in mid-table with us for a season or two! I've got no sympathy for Arsenal fans, some of the most arrogant/ignorant fans around.

    Haha, brilliant.

Screw Arsenal anyway, I'm sure we'd all agree.

I hope they never win another game (with the obvious and mandatory rider exception of if they played L*t*n).

I love to see these 'big' British teams get ****ed in Europe.

About a year ago it came out that when they borrowed money to build the Emirates the bank's condition was for them to keep Wenger as he was pretty much guaranteeing them CL qualification each year.

Absolutely love it when Arsenal's season implodes usually around this time of year. So many 'supporters' and celeb supporters these days who have jumped on the bandwagon and profess to support them, worse than Man United. I preferred them when when they were a horrible unlikable team pre Wenger.

Anyway they were very successful under first 10 years of Wenger and still relatively successful in 10 years since. How Liverpool must wish for guaranteed Champions League football every single season without fail. The 2 back to back FA cup wins seem to have been quickly forgotten. Probably is time to go as he looks tired and fed up with it all and risks tarnishing his legacy further

I do just find it hilarious.

I suppose it's a bit like Brian Clough in his Forest days, did superbly at the beginning but as eash year passed apart from a couple of league cup wins they never really challenged for anything after their European successes; he somewhat spoilt his legacy when he got them relegated in his final season. It would be great if Wenger left with them finishing below 4th this year.

But he is an owners dream. Guaranteed championships league football every season with the odd trophy thrown in. Doesn't overspend in any transfer window either, wasn't Cech the only player they bought the other summer?

Why would you sack him 10 years ago, especially when they built the emirates and needed to keep expenditure in other areas at a minimum whilst they paid off the stadium.

I think people often underestimate what Wenger has done at Arsenal. When they were building the Emirates he kept them competitive and continued to deliver Champs League football while spending very little. That's no small achievement.

If I was on the Arsenal board, I'd be very wary of replacing him. Man Utd's complete non-relevance post Ferguson is a striking example of what can happen after a long tenured manager departs.

Arsenal have spent on average £40 mill per year over the last 5 years, 3rd in the Prem, only behind the Manchester clubs, it's a myth that Wenger does not spend, he does, it's just a lot of the players do not make it into the team due to being crap. In comparison, Spurs spend 1 mill per year, mainly due to the Bale deal.

Xhaka and Mustafi cost £70 million between them, Perez £17 mill. They spent just short of £100 million in the summer. The season before, OK, spending less on Cech but also £10 mill on Elneny. Xaka is a walking red card each week and Perez hit the bar against us and done nothing else of note bar the odd Champs League dead rubber.

Does this result make Bayern better than us? They beat Arsenal by more goals that we did, but we beat them at home

Worse thing that happened to Arsenal was Chelsea and Man City getting their millions at a time when Arsenal weren't spending due to the costs of their new ground..

It left them behind a bit and despite being pretty consistent its now not enough..

Well till next month I am twiddling my thumbs(ish) ... bit of packing here, decorating there, but most of all I like winding up brexiters on WFC Forums.

Still, I guess from Nuremberg things won't look half so bad, I might even stop my whinging.
