Woke up at about 11am (heavy nights drinking on the Friday night in Southampton), recieved a picture message from one of the South Coast lads displaying a few bottles of champagne and plenty of lager! Happy days, couldn't wait to get on the 12:31 from Winchester to meet the lads!

Got to the Hawthornes at about 15:20 and made the walk from the station to the Vine public house to meet a few others! On the way to the pub we walked past the ground and saw Kevin Phillips and Paul Robinson signing autographs for a load of Saggies supporters! Couldn't pass them by without giving Phillips a load of stick about 'remembering who gave him a break at pro level' and reminding Robbo he was a true Watford legend amongst the fans and that he should come home! To be fair Phillips took the banter quite well (I was going to ask if his wife is still screwing some bloke from the carphone warehouse in Southampton, but thought better of it considering he was surrounded by a load of his team-mates ;))

Anyway, got to the Vine pub and had a few lovely cold ciders, followed by a very nice chicken tikka kebab (excellent pub)! Had a bit of banter in there with a few WBA lads then made our way to the ground!

What happened during the game, Gawd only knows, but I remember going absolutley mental when Bromby scored (couldn't tell whether it was Bromby or Priskin at the time) and I remember the atmosphere being decent in the away end (only seems to happen when everyone is STANDING UP, why can't we do this more?)

I seem to remember the lads putting in 110%, and it was a total reverse on previous games i've watched recently, and also our football at times was pretty decent first half! I seem to remember a lovely back-heel by Priskin which McAnuff totally wasted, then the whistle went for HT!

I couldn't tell you what happened second half as I was totally f**ked by this point!

After the game there was a SMALL incident waiting for the tram into Brum New Street...nothing much, just a few mouthy chavs on the WBA platform that melted when offered across by a few Watford chaps! A small victory, but nothing more!

Got back to Hampshire at about 23:30, with no poxy buffet cart on board!

All in all, it was a decent day out!

Good read mate. Champers on the train? That's on the list for a future awayday methinks! :]]
