    Hi everyone!

I work for Premier League Productions in London, and am conducting a scenic shoot around Vicarage Road and Watford town tomorrow (Friday 16th). Now that you're back in the top flight we really need to update our archive!

The administrators have kindly authorised an account on your forum so that I can talk to you the fans(!) and get the real inside track on what makes Watford, Watford?!

What I'm hoping is for the die-hards out there to give us some good shot ideas outside of the usual! I'll be grabbing all the obvious scenic shots you might think of, Station signs, Road signs, bus signs etc... and of course Vicarage Road.

ARE there are any gem locations out there, iconic to being a Watford fan? Maybe it's a location traditional to the match day experience (a certain road with history, or part of the arrival route for fans...or a pie shop etc.) Or maybe there are parts of the surrounding area that have history or a story that go with it...

There's really no wrong answer here, and any suggestions you guys have would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks to anyone who contributes an idea or place, if you can please give me as much information/background where possible.

More importantly, good luck for the rest of the season!
    Regards,
    Tom

He should also seek out the magical park gates, the car park ramp that inspired the Guggenheim Museum and Elton Way

It's only when you put your mind to thinking about this stuff that you realise quite what a cesspit most Of Watford is.

Watford town centre is architecturally the most ugly town I've ever seen. Far uglier than neighbouring Hemel, which was tarnished as Britain's ugliest. From the curly car park entrance, the make do market outside Clements, the awful facade of the Harle**** and the sickening mish mash of buildings facing it, it's a dystopian nightmare.

Go and film somewhere else you ****.

Bad as it is, Swindon and Bedford are worse. And I've never had the pleasure of visiting Croydon, but that's meant to take some beating. Oldham and Blackburn can represent the north. And Blackpool - now that is dystopian.

Get the 1881 on the little train in Cassiobury Park and film that.

    That is pure, undiluted Watford.

Normally pre-match I head to Waitrose and get a free coffee, so John Lewis is a significant landmark in my eyes. Last time I was there I bumped into Darius Henderson.

The last house on the left in Vicarage Road at the junction with Willow Lane used to be a bit of a knocking shop with very friendly ladies in it. Tony Coton era players used to go there post match for some relaxation....
