The bit that is highlighted is in the past tense. Currently West Brom would bite the arm off anyone willing to take him. Adjectives used to describe Ellington in this piece are 'unconvincing' and 'disappointing'.

Am I the only one who thinks this Ellington/King partner won't work at all? They're way to similar... We'll have more quality up front with Ellington and King in the squad for sure, but no one to play alongside either of them.
Ellington and Roberts were very similar players but they hit it off at Wigan! As stated by Cudey, we need to get the ball down...which certainly means getting rid of Mahon!
Quality signing so long as we sell Marlon for £10 mio and play Henderson as target with Duke and Priskin feeding off of him. Otherwise tend to agree that can't see Marlon and Duke together working at all, think they are way too similar.
Hmm don't agree. King and Ellington will work well together upfront so long as we get the ball down in midfield!

F*cking hell, we're making a quality signing and everyone's complaining! What are you all on about Ellington and Marlon won't work together? Just goes to show that everyone has it stuck in their heads that all we can do is play a long ball/hoofing game, if we play a good passing game on the floor then Ellington and King will be fantastic together.
But if we do that in midfield we don't need Ellington as that will suit Priskins game, but we've never seemed able to do this, but hopefully tonite will see decent football again.
Yes but having another quality striker should encourage this kind of play as well as give us more options.

According to "The Mail on Sunday" Nathan Ellington will be signing for us in the next 48 hours!!! "The People" and "The Mirror" also say we are in deep negotiation for him, one of them says the price on offer is £3.5million!!! And one of them also says the usual thing that is said when we are interested in a player? Yes, you've guessed right, "Charlton are also interested" Lets hope its not just paper talk, cause, boy do we need him!!!
